As I continue to share and clarify my thoughts over the the Cross and Flamers site (UMC social networking site), I thought I'd save here my response to a very pointed question I get a lot. I have heard Roman Catholics give similar answers. I can understand the viewpoint.

It's ironic to me because I left the Roman Catholic church because they didn't ordain women and I wanted to be a pastor. Now I know lots of people who want to be ordained in the UMC but are gay. Some leave, some don't. I guess I didn't love the RCC enough. My dear friend Annie who was stripped of her pastors license when she came out is still UMC. She loves the church that much.
