Anyway, it was on the list, but further down. It's always been a goal, but I hope to move forward with it a bit. I use having a toddler as an excuse for generating mass amounts of waste, but No Impact Man demonstrates that this is no excuse whatsoever.

Very cool goal, anyway. And very true that toddlers aren't excuses for mass amounts of waste (as Colin and Isabella demo over and over again -- with an insane ability to make me feel about two inches tall), but there are some wastes that are different.
If you want a place to start with a different kind of activity, I just put together a GoogleDocs file to track my energy use, pulling info off of my monthly electric/gas statements. I can share the file with you if you want to create one yourself and begin to track where your usage has peaks and valleys?

a good suggestion to track energy use, but sadly, I don't actually see my energy bills because I don't pay them.
Actually, my first (and perhaps most difficult) task is to sell B on the goal, because he's constantly throwing away things that could be recycled. I really want to have a garden, but that's the part that I can't find time for. I have so much space that it would be perfect, but it's labor intensive (especially the size I'd like to do), and toddler-parenting (and possibly infant parenting by next spring) make that tough. I think that has to wait for my next house.
