I had what I thought was a relatively disappointing Stewardship Sunday this past week. We had decided to do the 18th because we thought people would be away on Veteran's Day weekend. That is exciting... yes God gets credit but only because God chose you to lead a congregation.. way to go!

I think Pride is a misleading name for a sin. Sometimes, as you say, feeling proud of oneself or others is a good thing (I'm damn proud of my congregation-- prouder than I am of myself!), and sometimes the avoidance of pride becomes a dangerous self-loathing.
