Wait, what's that? A post that's not about Harry Potter?

That's right, folks. Between my scare today (thought I saw a spoiler-icon, but was later assured it was a general goodbye-to-the-series icon) and watching a great little YouTube video with a Harry Potter song, I actually did work and stuff ( Read more... )

Nice job, Pastor!

Are you going to be in Ecuador long enough to receive mail? I'm trying to get my kids writing more without the commitment of actual penpals...

The potluck idea is interesting, I want to know how it works out.

I'll only be in Ecuador ten days. I can receive email there, but not snail mail. I may or may not be able to even send a post card.

I'm sure I'll be keeping updates about the potlucks. I think they should be fun. Well, more fun than your average potluck anyway.

I figured that since you wrote a work blog, I would comment on your comment :) I could just write an e-mail, but that would be too much. First, I am using Spark People (inspired by your stories). I have been doing it just over a month and have lost about 10 lbs. The part that takes so much time is the exercise. Finding time to exercise with a toddler means lots of getting up early (which I hate).

Second, I'm not pastoring anymore! I work in the Chaplain's office at yet another Nazarene school (I'm to #3 now), as the Director of Church Services. My job is "to direct the resources of the university to the local Nazarene churches and pastors in the southeast." For the most part, it's a 8-4 job, but with a good amount of travel. It's good, and I enjoy it, a lot. I just find little time to do things outside of work, cleaning and exercise. I wish that my job hours were (much) more flexible. Perhaps someday when I quit working full time to stay at home with my babies (you know, once husband finishes up that pesky PhD, in 6 years!).
