I love it when an Oscar winner thanks her wife first. Especially when it's *her* wife.

I love that Melissa Etheridge was sitting in the front row, and when her name was called she gave her sweetie a big ole smooch, took the stage, and thanked her and her kids right off the bat, like it was the most normal thing in the world.

ha, I spent more time thinking, "Hey, Melissa is married to the mean chick from 'Popular'!" than I did about the fact that they're both women.

but yes, I loved this as well. that it was such a non-issue. maybe things are improving, at least in Hollywood.
