I heart hema. I got the cutest pair of gloves from there and then lost one of them.

And I know what you mean about the bikes. We rented them when we were living there for about a month which was cool. And I borrowed my aunt and uncles when I visited them. Fuck I miss Holland. It's such a wonderful country.

Have you been to a pancake restaurant yet? They're amazing.

i have not been to a pancake restaurant, no. in fact, i don't think i have SEEN a pancake restarant. if you happen to know where one is in utrecht?

Here you go. :D You HAVE to go and take as many people with you as possible. Hold your arms out in front of you, a la the Macarena. Then curve your hands and wrists in till they touch each other and bend your elbows out till you make a circle with your arms and body... this is a big circle, no? This is how big your pancake will be.

ah, the oudegracht! i know where this is. also home to a sex shop (quite probably several), a coffeeshop (very cool, i must say. basically IN the canal, in an old pipe/cave. if you are ever in town, check out sarasani's. 327), a gay bar i intend to check out perhaps saturday?, and hema. must make a note to spend more time up there. and to park my bike and walk around, because when you are as shaky at street biking as i am, you keep your eyes on the damn road.

should one go to a pancake restaurant for dinner? or would this be strange?

I'm in the Netherlands right now too (in Groningen) and I am loving the bike thing...it's better here than anywhere else I've ever seen.
