Same Song, New Verse

I don't know if I've ever talked about the Russian lady I'm helping learn English. Thursdays are usually our day to get together. Today ended up being a little different than usual...

OMG, poor Nina. You might end up with some intensive Russian immersion through this and pick up even more of the language. You're a good friend! *hugs*

Thanks!

While we were waiting for her prescription to be filled, she was bemoaning the fact that we didn't do our "lesson". I told her that we talked a lot, and that everything counts. As usual, we ended up laughing about how our lessons sometimes are different.

She's up and around, feeling only "little pain". Her daughter called, so Nina 'fessed up about her fall - only to get a lecture about keeping her cell phone on her when she goes for walks. Which is funny because I gave her the same talk while I was with her yesterday.

I know the community will be poking their heads in and checking up on her today and tomorrow (provided she doesn't end up at her daughter's tonite), so I'm not too worried about her now.

What a day, tho!!

How can nobody help her on the street?

You are a very good friend.

Well, truth be told, the "village" is kind of out in the countryside just outside the city limits of my town, in a very agricultural area. And I have a feeling that she wasn't exactly in the busiest place in the first place. That said, however, she spoke of the cars that drove by and didn't see her.

Spoke to her this morning. She said she only has "little pain", that she slept well, and that she got a lecture from her daughter about keeping her phone on her when she goes for walks. LOL!!! I gave her the same lecture myself while I was with her yesterday. I'll be keeping in closer touch with her over the weekend, as you can imagine.

Thanks!

Ah well, that's different! I live in a city, so there would be no way that nobody noticed her and helped her.

I'm glad she is better. =)
