I am so conflicted on how I feel! On one hand, the scenes with Arthur and Eames are so hot @_@ , but then on the other, cheating/infidelity = D:

I know. He doesn't want to hurt his wife, he really does mean for it to the last time, every time. Thanks for reading.

Yesss I have been lusting so hard after some infidelity angst. Or infidelity non-angst. Or really anything with infidelity at all. This is so sad, the longing for the life they know they can't have, but also knowing that what they do have is shaped by their situation (might not be so exhilarating if it wasn't so forbidden).

Infidelity provides some of the best angst in my opinion. I didn't set out to write that type of story, but once I did start writing it, I found that it was necessary- or so said my inner angst-slut.

Thank you for reading.

Ooh, nice. It reminds me of Cheever's short stories, sort of that mid-century atmosphere of suburban assignations and desire and guilt. Very sharp and different and affecting.

I must admit my ignorance, I am not familiar with Cheever's short stories. I'll have to remedy that. Which is his best story, in your opinion?

I'm glad you thought it was different and affecting. It was more than I hoped to achieve.

"The Swimmer" is his most famous one, I think. But if you google "John Cheever" I'm sure you'll find plenty of refs:).
