Anybody got any idea why it's being promoted with Craig as the main lead or why he was chosen for top billing? I'd have thought Lewis was more high-profile than him due to the West End understudy/holiday cover job for Lee. (also, for those who've bought it, was it any good? didn't buy due to not liking the song choice - I like the lads but I don' ( Read more... )

I think Craig was the one who landed the record contract and then it was decided to go the boy band route but as with the Valentine's Day concert it's very much a Craig and friends album.

I don't think Keith is involved with the band and he has his own record contract.

Yeah It was Craig's album originally.
Then Bill Kenwright approached the other Josephs to do duets on the album. Some declined (I'm guessing Keith did).
When he got them in the studio Bill decided he wanted them singing as a group.

I think craig decided to do something because the others all had like parts and stuff, but he got his friends involved.
i would have liked it more if it were lewis & friends, but i suppose you never know what will happen in the future.

im getting it on thursday, for my birthday (:
ill let you know if its any good, and try to upload the songs

The album is incredible.

Everyone sounds wonderful on it and in fact there isn't a song I don't like!

Bill chose Craig and then the other six lads (Chris B, Chris C, Seamus, Antony, Lewis and Johndeep) because he liked them and thought it would work; he was right, it works fantastically.

Craig's voice meshes well with all of the other lads'voices and his solo songs work really well too.

Keith's album should be out sometime soon and hopefully we'll hear more from Craig and the other Dream On lads in the not too distant future.

I'd say Craig's more high-profile really, being as he's continuously doing Joseph rather than Lewis's three odd weeks. I'd rather Lewis was heading it up though. :)
As to why Bill picked Craig ... it's fairly apparent from the sleeve notes that he entirely bumloves him (in an entirely figurative way, I should point out).
I think Bill probably likes him because he's got that climbed-his-way-up thing. He was a shitty cabaret singer, now he's a musical star. The other boys (the good ones) have all had proper training, which doesn't quite fit the story so well.
I bought it for the cheesy-with-extra-cheese goodness. It has horrid electric backing and the most ridiculous (and occasionally unexpected) key changes, which always makes for good cheese music.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit wierd that it was "Craig and friends", and no Keith. However, we all know that Bill seems to love Craig, and I agree with everyone above on that respect!

Nevertheless, Lewis is on it, so I don't mind :D
