not about a boy for once

So, my friend S and I have been friends since we were 4 years old. We're now 21 (well, she'll be 22 in 2 1/2 weeks). Long time. Over the last few years we aren't exactly "thick as thieves" as we used to be...moving on with our lives in some different directions, etc. I moved out, started working full time, and she's still living at home and having ( Read more... )

Hi..

This is kind of a tough situation. I'd just not say anything and see what happens. If she gets upset, just let her know that is the reason you've gone elsewhere--because she gets so upset. When she's cutting your hair, YOU are the customer and if you dislike the cut, she should do what it takes to make it better or to make you happy. A haircut is a personal thing and people need their hair to look good or it can make them feel awful! I would hate going to a stylist who didn't listen to what I wanted!

If she takes it badly, well...I think that I wouldn't want to deal with someone like that...and being their friend.

Good luck!

I like super cuts. but I've tried a few smaller shops and sometimes the appointment is more personal. I'd go to someone for a trim first and get a feel for what they might be like if you asked for other cuts. You can always set up an appointment to just discuss what you are looking for in a cut, etc. I bet if you looked around online, you also might be able to find reviews for any of the hair styling places in your area.

p.s. Its always helpful to bring in photos of what you want done. Be firm!

i have the same problem seeing as my cousin is a sylist. she usually takes forever, feels a little too comfortable not doing exactly what i asked for, etc. etc. etc. i started going to other people inbetween cuts with her, saying i had a coupon here or there, saying it was more convenient (i wasn't in the area) etc. this might be a little harder for you but it worked well for me just because she wasn't all that close to me (distance wise) and i got it done on a whim ("i have been in desperate need for a cut/color and it happened to be next to the place i was getting groceries at or waiting to get my film developed")

She knows I'm short on cash so the coupon answer is a pretty good one. The distance one not so much since I live closer to her salon than she does lol. :P

thanks!!
