If you are hired, then you can tell your new boss/manager ASAP. I think telling them beforehand would be jumping the gun. I wouldn't stress so much over it, you may be able to work around it and if not, then you may not be able to keep the job. It would stink but there are other jobs out there and in the future you'll remember to mention your availability when you're interviewing for a job.
I agree w/ Becky...and just wanted to add that asking the hours first is not inappropriate.
I had an interview where I didn't find out until the *2nd* interview that they wanted me to work 7-4. I'm not a morning person and the job was like 40 minutes away from my apartment. You can see where I'm going with that. heh. yuck!
I agree with the previous; hold off until they approach you with an offer. Then do you best to explain your situation and why you have a need for these hours; be flexible with everything else and hope they like it. If it is part-time they probably don't expect you to be available for too many hours; and if it is a receptionist position, you are likely to work during the day hours anyway.
Just hang in there. Play it cool. Attitude is everything when it comes to getting a job.
