I'm doing something similar next year in my reading challenge.

Like make a certain % of my reading amount next year books I have in my house that are just sitting there :)

Thrilled to know there is an actual sort of official challengey thing I can co-opt!

I am tempted to do this as well...as I have HEAPS of books on my eREADER that remain untouched and yet I keep re-reading the same old books.

This is the PERFECT challenge for you, then. No re-reads, TBR books only, count for this one. (Which isn't to say you can't re-read old favourites, just that they don't count toward your TBR total.)

I've been on an old book kick of late and while they are all great and good, I NEED to start reading the ones I have not read.

EREADER 2012! You'll be getting a workout!!!

w000t!!! This is such a great idea for a reading challenge.

I need to go make my own post so I can hold myself to it :)

Does this mean you've finished my book?

I'm thinking of giving the Dresden Files a look, too, on the recommendation of witchling and now you. I've never been a big fan of fantasy, though.

*hangs head*

No, I haven't yet finished your book. It's on the list of books to finish, though! :D (Jeez, I suck!)

The Dresden Files aren't straight-up fantasy, they're urban fantasy, which is a dragon-free, non-medieval kind of fantasy, so it's not the kind of fantasy you don't much like. And Harry Dresden is a wiseass action antihero type of hero, which is kind of like crack for me. I love smartass action antiheroes.

Me too so, fingers crossed, I'll end up wild about Harry (groan).

And you don't suck: consider me honoured to be a stone amongst Mount TBR!

Oooh, I love a challenge that involves things I'm good at. Maybe dragointail and I can give this a try together!

I think I'm up for Mt Vancouver at least, it all depends on how many books I have that haven't been read at all. Hmmm.
