Once Mother has tired of questioning, the youngest quickly makes an escape to his room. He has no intent on staying around if it might irritate Mother. Her presence reminds him all too clearly of the rejection of her predecessor, and he's not quick to suffer it again. In fact, he's still doing his best to remain comfortably in denial

Yazoo quietly knocks at Kadaj's door. Now is the best time to accost him, when Mother is not around, and he's not about to take no for an answer. "...brother?" he asks quietly after a moment. "May I talk to you for a moment...?"

Kadaj startles slightly, looking up at the door. He contemplates for a moment and then heads to the door, opening it with a slight smile.

"I was just going to head outside. What did you need?"

One of Yazoo's eyebrows arches briefly. "Let me be blunt. Are you all right, brother?"

[advent_kadaj]

"Of course. Mother is home."

There's a strange tone in his voice.
