Are there any free sites like that left? Gah, I remember when they first came on the scene.

I think the model has pretty much shifted to blogging and sharing content across a number of service sites like Flickr and Wordpress and other CMSs (and LJ, still.) If you want to create a full site, it seems to be expected that you'll get a hosting account somewhere.
