Apartment lights: 5/4! Added/replaced four fixtures, added a fifth in the main room. Nothing wrong with that fear. Testing a voltmeter and then only touching with that back of your hand is a very good habit to be in. :)

There's a difference between reasonable caution and obsessive-compulsive behavior though.

Although, I really do like to understand the wiring system to trust it not to switch on on me (folks do some *very* funny things to wiring). Also, in multi-user environments, there is good reason for lock-outs.

Does remind me of rock-climbing though--it totally confirms one completely rational fear of heights.
And hard sharp things below you.

Yeah, this is probably on the obsessive-compulsive side. I turn them ALL off, even though I'm certain I know which switch controls that circuit, and I still can't help it.
