gfish has posted a great narrative of the Mackenzie trip, here. Pictures!

gfish is much better at actually using those combined seven-hundred-odd photos than I am.

I should probably send work a 'Hi, I'm back in the country' email, now that I am back out of the country. In Vancouver for Pride weekend, the Monet to Dalí show at VAM, and fashion cattiness ( Read more... )

Incidentally, the RCMP called this morning looking for you. Apparently you guys were supposed to check in at the end of your travels. They were all set to start a search for you!

Fortunately in the interim when they and I were playing phone tag, they got a hold of your mom. (yerMOM!)

I am deeply, deeply amused. I'm going to give gfish SO MUCH SHIT for this. :)

Oh, crap. Really? With all the angst that's gone down this last week between my parents and I (name change, etc), a call from the RCMP is only going to freak them out. More, that is.

I am terribly amused that that happened, though. gfish told you that the RCMP stations in each community never had any idea that we had checked in at the previous ones? We decided, after every new explanation of our trip, that any search mounted on our behalf was Not Our Fault...

Oh, great. Panicked email from my mother demanding to know what's up.

Also, thanks for the art gallery pointer; I think I need to get up and see that exhibit before it closes.

Mmm. Quite probably. I actually was a little disappointed by it. There are a lot of semi-famous pieces there, including one deeply affecting image by Picasso that I am glad to have seen -- but I think the top floor of the gallery, running a different show, had a more interesting theme.
