Community clutter - now posted in the right spot!

Hey, everyone!

We've gotten some complaints through the HMD post and IM that the OOC comm has gotten very cluttered, and we agree.

-No more slowatus posts. If you're threading with someone and you have to go, or you'll be delayed, let them know personally. Contact info is on this page and everyone is supposed to be there. If your info is not ( Read more... )

...Hiatus wise, wouldn't it be easier to have a post like the reserves and such in that comm.

It would be easier for you mods to look up who was away during an activity check or what have you without filtering through drops and pick ups.

^ This. It'd be so much easier on Youko when it comes to her tables, too.

Good idea. I'll link Youko to this. We've got a table with it already, but yeah. That might make her life easier.

We'd still want to have longer hiatuses on here, though. People would forget to check that page, and we'd get a bunch of "where's so and so?" questions.

Agreed about the longer hiatuses. It allows all of us to realize we shouldn't post something and expect said "so and so" to reply to it (like, for example, if I were away for a month, Hoshi would know in advance not to post with Sasuke directly addressing Kakashi with something, because she would get no reply for that month).

*edits. Meant a longer period of time, seriously*

Thank you very much. I was going to go up the wall. Like spiderpig.

Another good idea for people if they're lazy about going onto the contact page or remembering it afterward is to PM the other person's journal. It's probably even faster than waiting for them to check through the community anyway.

Welcome! It was getting quite out of hand.

Aye, that it is.

*nods* Seems sensible!

I wonder about something like this, though? Should similar things (which from my perspective is something I'd want to get out there, at least, because I hate to think people would believe I'm ignoring them on purpose) be posted as an OOC comment in the journals it applies to, for instance?

No, I totally understand that. I'd want people to know too.

You could certainly post it OOCly to the players you're threading with (in the thread you're in, even), or PM them directly to let them know personally. Or, if you want it more generally known, post OOCly in your own character journal (or at least in the journal of the character you use most). I think any of those would be acceptable to most players.

*nods* Yeah, I agree that with existing threads, it would be easy to tell the other person, but I would be unaware of new tags, and hence unable to warn those taggers. So yeah, a post in my own character journal is what I'll do in future, then, if similar problems occur. Thanks. ^^ (Not that this current problem is solved yet, it seems. *sigh*)

Perhaps you could try changing your e-mail in lj account? This way you can gett all the replies directly to gmail or any other else. If you have a paid account, you may ...okay, I have no idea how it translates into english, but you may get notifications from all chosen threads in inbox and mail.
