"Oh!"

Watanuki almost dropped the paper bag he was holding, his eyes wide as he saw Jade aiming for the kill not too far away. Well, it was that, and he had just seemed to, oh, I don't know, I guess, freakin' magick a spear out of thin air.

With a simple movement of his arm, he let the spear fly, lopping off the peaduck's head before it even had a chance. Not that it had much of one to begin with. The spear stuck into the ground and disappeared when its job was done.

"I hope this will do for now" he said walking over to his kill. He looked over at the newcomer.

"Ah, it's you"

Watanuki gaped in horror at where the peaduck had once stood. Now, it had fallen to the ground, limp and, well. Not alive.

Negi, meanwhile, was still back at the house, tidying up the kitchen a little. The house was a bit more lively again, and with a few more mouths to feed, the kitchen could become fairly messy fairly quickly. Sometimes, it proved to be a never-ending battle. But, Negi didn't mind at all.

Currently, he sat at the wood dining table, dipping a cloth in a cup of tea and rubbing it into the surface. When wood polish was impossible to find, tea was just the trick.

Well, dinner time was nearing and the ducks took some time to roast properly without allowing them to dry out and require a lot of gravy--which Watanuki made from the duck fat that became stuck to the pan they used. It all smelled delicious and Jade had to make a bee-line back to the house before it became cold.

But this was yet another container he had to clean and return to the teenage boy. No matter.

Jade made his way into the kitchen with the peaduck dinner and spotted the young red-head.

"Oh, hello" he announced as he went to put the duck onto the counter.

Negi looked up at the voice, still unfamiliar to him. He knew it enough to not have to be on the defensive, at least. His rubbing paused, and he gave Jade a friendly smile, glancing at that peaduck.

"Hello! It looks like you've been busy."

Jade uncovered the bird filled with stuffing. The smell became stronger upon uncovering it.

"Well, it was about time I got a bit of fresh air" he said.

"I hope you're hungry. I brought back a bit of a treat."
