"I know you s-said we could have problems with our powers. C-can we actually lose them completely?"

"Yes, I wouldn't put it past them. It's a big obstacle, obviously."

"Byakugan!"
Her vision expanded, but given what Fran had said earlier, she was none too surprised to realize some zones were strangely blurred or just plain invisible, which was normally impossible.
She still could see a clear enough picture of the maze of tunnels. Processing the information and moving in the ight direction would take a while, though.

He actually sounds serious, but he gives Hinata a look as he slings the backpack over his shoulder.
"What do you see down there?"
He'd been down there, of course. But it could have changed for all he knew, and they were barely in the tunnel so far.

She didn't comment on the 'you didn't even do a pose' part, but she gave Fran a clear 'what the hell does it have to do with anything look?'.
Without further ado she started walking down the tunnel. If Hinata had noticed anything potentially dangerous, she'd have said it immediately. They could very well listen to Hinata's answer as they walk. And the sooner they got going, the sooner they'd reach their goal.

There was still the sensation of not quite feeling right. Right; she had to keep her focus. She brought her hands away from rubbing warmth into her arms. A quick look around was enough. That way looked like a wider path...
"Guys, that way might be the one. It looks like it leads somewhere, doesn't it?" Of course, they couldn't really be sure, without a map or a guide or any number of things they didn't have right now.

Mars, however, didn't move, shouldering the backpack they were given with half a frown as she scanned the area, her PCD in her hand, permanently set to recording. She wouldn't allow single moment of the journey to be missed.

With a press of her left earring, Mercury's visor bridged over her eyes, and digital readings started flying over its display. "Perhaps once we get deeper in, I can get a scan going so we can get a map, as crude as it may be."

No one you talk to yet chooses to identify themselves. And there's little differentiation between 'guards' and 'scientists'; uniforms are apparently hard to come by now, and who has visible weapons seems to be randomized. In the background, people stare at you furtively, before rushing past- most with anger, some with fear.
You've already been ushered past a main thoroughfare, into a small offshoot of the regular tunnels. The air is still bad, and the light could be best described as 'ambient.'
"You're lucky we were already planning to abandon the areas you've tainted with her," a man scolds you, but Thalatte is no where to be found. Upon meeting the humans, she vanished without explanation or warning. "So what've you come to pillage now?"

She'd intended to be quiet, at least awhile, but it was too much, to be confronted with that opposite view of her motives. And fairness compelled her to add, "You, too. You shouldn't have to hide away, either!"
"We don't understand a lot about what happens here. We were just brought here from our worlds, you know that. So please, tell us what you mean. Why do you say it's tainted if Thalatte came here?"
