Lucifer spent very rare days at the Chateau, mostly when Break was off terrorizing the citizens, or when Lucifer needed space to plan or do his own terrorizing.

He was aware when Jinx came home, but didn't immediately go to her. It was more important to see what she was up to, and when he found her packing he finally stepped into the room.

This entire time, Jinx had been on her guard. Everything was making her hackles rise, like she had just spent all night watching a horror movie marathon. For that split second, with her nose against the pillow, her shoulders relaxed. That was when she heard the creaking floorboards.

The pillow and her bag clattered to the floor. Without hesitation, she whipped around in the direction of the sound and threw up her good hand. A spiral of magic appeared in her palm, shaping itself into a sigil. And that sigil? Could banish an angel on the spot. Sure, she had no idea how well it would work like this (she'd only seen it painted in blood on Rei's walls,) but Jinx would sure as hell send it flying at him if he tried anything funny.

Her nose crinkled as she growled at him, upper lip curling. Her gaze was dark and angry. "Leave."

Lucifer watched the sigil, and stayed where he was. If need be he could vanish from the doorway--he wasn't going to take risks inside the room.

"Without so much as a nod?" Oh how he needed to move, though, Nick's skin was too tight, it felt like it was threatening to split if he didn't walk it off. But he didn't move. "I need to talk to you. There's something you...you need to understand."

"You don't get to talk!" she screamed, unable to keep her emotions in check. Really, she wanted to play it cool. She wanted to just be angry with him. Oh, she was furious, but there was more to it than that. So much more.

"I just wanted to see if you were okay, and you--you--I almost died and you didn't even care!"

Before this point, she had yelled at him. They had fought plenty of times. She'd gotten upset, too. But never like this. This time, she was screaming as loud as she physically could.
