[And Katara had been getting ready to go fishing. Fishing for fish, not for people, and as she watches what is very clearly a person drop into the cold waters of the lake, all she can numbly think is how glad that she is that the water hasn't frozen over yet.

Oh.

Oh, no. That wasn't good at all.

Throwing the fish that she had caught back into the water, she launches herself into it (soaked and cold, but she'll bend it off), making a kneeboard of sorts and propelling herself toward the body in the lake.

Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap.

And - it's Zuko. Zuko has fallen from the sky. Into the lake. Zuko, of all people, and the effort isn't easy, and she's freezing by the end of it, but she does manage to eventually haul him to shore.]

Zuko -- !

[She's out of breath and he's unconscious, but at least he's still breathing. Katara takes him by the shoulder, then shivering, begins to check him over for injury.]

( His name, someone's speaking his name but through the thick blanket laying over top of his senses, Zuko can't for the life of him figure it out or put a face to the semi-muffled voice. Lukcily there's a response from him as Katara's checking him over-- a quiet groan and flexing fingers, hunching shoulders.

Everything's so cold, it's almost as though something had happened with his chi. He's a firebender, everything should be warm. More than warm.

Zuko sucks in on a breath as his body begins to shiver--a strangled sound escapes him and he feels like he's choking. He begins to cough up whatever water he had swallowed and his fingers dig into the ground.

Uncle-- )

Zuko --

[And Katara is hastily bending away whatever water she can from his body, flinging it to the lake, trying not to let herself panic. Very funny, whoever brings us here-- she thinks, and even her own inner dialogue is stressed, a little tense.

A pause, and she pulls her coat off, lying it over Zuko, trying to coax warmth and wakefulness both into him. There's snow on the ground; they can't stay out there long.]

Zuko.. come on, wake up. It's me - Katara.

[Please remember me this time.]
