This was probably one of Sokka's last nights at the forge, so he was surprised to see a visitor. It had been a long day already and the young man was about ready for it to be over, physically and mentally taxed by recent circumstances.
He doesn't smile when he sees Jet. Instead, Sokka stands and takes in the Freedom Fighter, eyes wandering to those areas where he knew the man to be injured. Some part of him wanted to ask a hundred questions, but he was angry and a little bit hurt he'd been brushed off. Had he been worried? Yes. So worried he'd been by Queen Anne's Row a couple times in hopes of catching Jet moving around. It was only through the grapevine that the tribesman knew his friend was alive.
Sokka raised an eyebrow, pursed his lips, nodded. "I see you weren't swallowed by that hole. I'd wondered." Aloof Powers, go!
DONT APOLOGIZE, it's perfect<3fn_rebelNovember 12 2011, 07:12:29 UTC
As quickly as his smile appeared, it disappeared from Jet's face. Obviously Sokka had not taken well to the lack of acknowledgement Jet gave him - which was fair. He had to have been worried, and the thought of visiting him had crossed his mind. Maybe he would have if this week didn't confuse him so much. Sooner, at least.
Sokka was concerned, the same way Jet would be, simple as that. His gaze averted somewhat shamefully to his feet.
He opened his mouth a few times but found that his mouth was dry, or maybe he just had no clue what to say. He noticed that his reaction was not a normal one to Sokka's words. He was not defensive or aggressive or even cocky. Apologetic? Yeah, but Sokka did not even know the half of it. At least not from Jet's knowledge. "Meant to come by earlier...it's been a rough week." Hopefully he'll take that as an apology.
Not as pefect as yooooou!angle_on_itNovember 12 2011, 10:38:54 UTC
The tribesman resisted the urge to snort, positive the attitude would do nothing more than force Jet into the defensiveness Sokka expected. He did, however, cross his arms and he came to a rest a few feet from his friend, a certain tarot reading gnawing at the back of his mind. Was this what Facilier had been talking about? There had to be something else, right? Really, this was hardly a big dealBig deal or not, Sokka was still upset. It wasn't like Jet was just another resident of Adstringendum that Sokka happened to know; Sokka cared and worried over his friend as much as his sister, and not hearing back had felt like... like an omission, as if Sokka was only worth alerting as an afterthought, when things had already worked themselves out. Of course, he couldn't be more wrong, but there was no way to tell that just yet

The gesture caught him off guard, that was for sure, but he made no effort to fight it or pull his wrist back. They probably were not very clean as Jet had been taking it upon himself to change them every so often. Sokka was far from the only person he was avoiding talking to, but that was another conversation for another day. Or not. Not talking about it at all suited the Freedom Fighter just fine, too. It was hard to explain to Sokka, and he really could not just go to Katara. That left him with very few people to talk to
