Having expecting the older man, Ron had been about for a while. He'd finally managed to replace some of the other chess pieces with real ones and in the process found some wizarding ones. Not enough for a full board, but he'd set them aside to show later. Happy he had a proper chess board, although still muggle, for his new student Ron had proceeded to spend the rest of the time relaxing.

Hearing the knocking from his place in the living room, Ron drudged up the will to get up and answer it. A hand shoved in his pocket, the ginger youth gave a sheepish sort of smile when he answered the door. "Er, hey," he said clearing his throat, "we can play in here or out there. My room's likely best in here, though."

"Wherever works best for you!" Iroh said cheerfully. "The weather is very nice today. And I have delicious treats!" He held up the dish of candied apples.

You now have him craning his neck curiously, Iroh. It's Ron and you have food. "What is it?" Shrugging a shoulder he stepped outside, "outside's good, then."

Iroh followed Ron, settling himself down wherever the young man indicated. "Candied apples. They're a delicacy from my homeworld."
