Characters: Jet and Katara When: Saturday; pre-event Where: Outside the Wastes. Somewhere. Rating: PG? Summary: Katara goes to find Jet when he doesn't return home.
Katara's hands are gloved with water, her stance defensive until she hears Jet's voice.. and then she relaxes. She hadn't been convinced that she was going to find him, and now that she had --
"Katara?" He relaxes, not sure if he picked up the stance or heard her voice first. But he does let his hand fall from the handle of his sheathed swords before taking a few steps nearer, closing some of the distance between them.
"I told you I would be...and I told you I'd be back, what are you doing here?" Even though he's glad she found him. He's not sure how he feels about going back to the house alone.
It gets an 'oof' from him and, being he didn't expect it, Jet almost loses his footing on impact. Stumbling back a little, he manages to catch it and, well, her, wrapping his arms around her loosely and patting her back.
"I just needed to clear my head. I'm alright-- just like I said I'd be, right?" He clears his throat a little, pulling away to the best of his ability.

[Sokka hadn't known Katara was going to the Wastes, though he should have guessed she would. If circumstances and obligations weren't a little different, they might have run into each other somewhere along the way.]
[That being said, the young tribesman is hyper-aware of the situation around him, especially after the previous week of shenanigans that had taken away all of their memories of home. It's likely no surprise Sokka hears voices he recognizes and finds himself outside, standing on the front porch, anxiously awaiting the people attached to those voices.]
[He doesn't say anything at all, but the relief at seeing Jet alive is absolutely apparent on his face. Can you stay a while a chat, bro? It's a silent question, but oh-so-obviously written on Sokka's concerned face.]
[Jet honestly hadn't been expecting to keep anyone waiting, let alone someone so relieved to see him. It felt strange, making them worry so much, but Jet figured he was still getting used to this family unit he'd unintentionally created.
The look on Sokka's eyes makes him wince and brace himself. He was expecting a lecture of some sort, but he turns to Katara and nods a quick goodnight before going the next house over.]
...hey.
[He gave a weak smile to the comment, if it could even be called that, and played with the twig in his mouth. It was more of a distraction than anything to him.]
[Sokka doesn't want to lecture -- he assumes his sister's already done that. Stepping forward, he crosses his arms, and eyes Jet for injuries.] Me? Okay, I guess. We've been worried, though. Are you... are you okay?
[He laughs a little, though it sounds more awkward than anything. The mark on his arm is mostly covered, and that was from his altercation with Zuko. Surprisingly, the Freedom Fighter's done well to avoid any new, lasting injuries.]

Considering he's allowed, of course.

"I was looking for you! You said it'd be a few days, and I couldn't deal with that! What if something had happened to you?"
