She had no reason not to believe him when he said he was the most powerful magician from his world. The fact that he was young didn't make it any less believable. He was about the same age as her and Harry. Aang was even younger.
The lingering scent of rosemary didn't tell Raven much either, except that she did recognize it quite easily since it was an ingredient she was used to using for potions.

He winces a little as he moves to sit up a little better, setting his jaw in a tight line.
"Can we get out of here? Sitting in a puddle of my own blood is not how I'd like to start my day."

And Raven bowed her head a little at his request.
"Of course, I'll fly us to the clinic... as soon as I have enough energy to do that. I'm afraid healing you drained me a bit. ...But we can walk a bit further." She stood up and hold out her hand. "I'll help you."
I would hardly take her long before she'd feel good enough to fly again. Another five minutes at most.

"Again, thank you. You have my gratitude."
Weakly, he takes her hand, gingerly lifting himself onto his feet and hobbling off. Nathaniel has to lean a little on her due to his injuries, but- it's not much. She shouldn't mind.

"That's fine. One is not supposed to let someone die when they have the power to help them."
Raven helped him up and didn't mind him leaning on her. She would have to hold him much closer to fly them to the clinic.
"I should be able to fly in a few minutes." She tried to reassure him. "That girl you mentioned earlier, Kitty, is she a friend of yours?"

At the question, he has to stop and think for a long moment, before shaking his head.
"It- it's complicated."
Understatement of the century. Nathaniel had spent the last five years of his life trying to make sure that Kitty Jones landed in prison. And yet- he spent the last five hours of his life trying to save hers.
"You... can fly?"
Definitely a demon then. Nathaniel tensed up a little in her grasp, before forcing himself to relax. Whoever sent her to aid him, they obviously wanted him alive. Why, Nat wasn't sure, but he was fairly certain that he'd find out.

Some friendships or alliances where indeed complicated. And it wasn't in Raven's nature to pry.
"Why yes, I can."
Curious how he didn't seem to notice the first time she mentioned it.
"I take it magicians can't in your world."
Reply
"Just dem- spirits."
He corrects himself a little belatedly, glancing up toward the sky, as if expecting demons to come rushing in at the mention of them.

Raven finished his word for him. And frowned. So being able to fly would be a give away. It'd make him suspect her half demon nature. She didn't like that idea but it was a little bit too late to come back on her words now.
At least maybe the way she flew was very different from the one spirits used in John's world? She bit her bottom lip and forced a small smirk upon her lips.
"Please don't tell me they have greyish skin and healing abilities as well? It would be creepy." She paused for a moment. "Fortunately, in the world I come from, not all demons can fly and people who can are not necessarily demons."

"Shapeshifters. But if you're concerned about me finding out about your true nature, don't worry. Whichever magician summoned you has my best interest at heart- I won't betray him or her by outing his servant."
Reply
"First I'm no shapeshifter and no one's servant. Second you're the first magician I've ever met and no one summoned me."
She shook her head and started walking again, her arm still wrapped around his wais to support him. "You have weird ways to show how grateful you are, really."
He wasn't in his world anymore, but apparently he didn't seem to have gotten that yet.

"Alright, alright."
Nathaniel shakes his head, awkwardly patting her on the back as if soothing a child. He doesn't apologize for his mistake- he doesn't believe he's made one, yet.

She turned to him again and explained patiently, or at least as patiently as Raven could muster.
"Listen John. I'm a witch from some world you've possibly never heard of. I've got my own powers and I use them to help who I please." A pause. "And patting my back doesn't count as an apology."
He was... quite handsome. And a little weird. Which only added to his charm as far as Raven was concerned. But he also seemed to have one hell of an ego.
Reply
"I wasn't apologizing. But if you prefer one, then allow me to offer it."
He still wasn't sure that she wasn't a demon- but right now, it seemed like a bad idea to make her unhappy, spirit or no. And besides which, he still wasn't able to focus entirely... Nathaniel wasn't sure what it was, but something about this place, something about the way he'd left home didn't sit right with him at all. If only he could put his finger on it...
In the end, he sighed, pulling his hand away from her- almost causing himself to fall over in the process. "There. Everybody's happy."

"Don't be stupid."
Raven suddenly decided that the sooner she'd be able to drop him at the clinic, the better.
"Alright. I think I can fly us both to the clinic now." She moved to stand behind him, sliding her arms under his armpits, and gently wrapping her hands over his shoulders. "Ready?"
