During that time she spent with Gabriel, Jinx's head had the chance to clear. A fog had lifted and she could finally think straight. Once she returned to Lucifer, it was much harder to keep herself in check, but she could make a conscious effort to try. The city was a mess. All because Rei and Lucifer couldn't control themselves. People were dying because those two couldn't be civil for five goddamn minutes ( ... )

She heard her name -- faintly, somewhere, to her right -- but the senshi ignored it. She had no time for this, she had no time to wait and entertain someone -- because somewhere, Castiel needed assistance -- or he was already dead -- he was probably already dead -- it isn't as if you can fight your own future --

She couldn't continue this fruitless search for much longer. She hadn't fully recovered -- and Castiel had insisted that she not use her powers, her holy fire, until she was fully recovered. How idiotic of her to refuse a healer -- because she wanted to take her humiliation and guilt and suffer privately --

Her breathing was labored as she finally skidded to a stop, at a crossroads, spinning on her heel to look down a road, eyes narrowed.

"Where is he," Mars snarled underneath her breath.

Jinx stopped on a dime when Rei did, keeping her distance. The last time they saw each other, it went badly. She was sure Rei hated her and Gabriel had all but confirmed it. Swallowing hard, she wound her whip around the clip on her waist and held both her hands up in surrender.

No need to piss of the magical cheerleader anymore than she already was.

But both hands dropped to her sides and balled into fists when the other girl demanded that. Didn't take a genius to know exactly the he she was referring to. "No. You look like shit. There are easier ways to kill yourself."

Jinx rolled her eyes. "What are you even doing out of the temple?"

Her heart was pounding against her rib-cage as she tried to focus, her senses stretched as far as they could possibly go. Come on, come on, it wasn't as if he was hard to find, he only had a giant gaping hole where his being used to be --

But something was confusing it. Darkness. An aura intermingled with shades of grey and white, screwing with her map of the city, the tiniest pings of power masked over by the proximity of --

Mars spun and fire bust from her right hand, sending a wave of it towards the ground, a warning -- the only warning Jinx would receive as Mars hissed:

"Leave me alone, you've done enough."
