Characters: fn_rebel and callinblueskies When: Backdated; before water-world. Where: Nowhere in particular. Rating: PG. Summary: After some talking the two decide to have a nice, clean spar.
It would be another ten or fifteen minutes before Rin arrived at the location Jet had given earlier.
He seems a little confused by the time he comes into sight though. With him he's carrying the KuriKara in its normal red case slung over his shoulder, and a worn wooden practice blade. He was surprised to find the KuriKara left out in the open like he'd found it. Typically Shura had it on her at all times and relentlessly told him no when he asked to practice with it.
It wasn't uncommon for the girl to go wandering for days on end though, maybe this was just one of her big plans? Rin will break his thought process though and waved over to Jet.
He smiled at the sight of the familiar face approaching. By now he'd done what any cheater rival would do and had taken in his surroundings. The ground still seemed pretty clear and with Rin here, he could almost feel his blood rushing. He'd finally get to use the tactics he loved to fight - even if friendly. Warming up seemed like a good idea, too. Especially in a place like this.
"I did." He gave a nod of confirmation, holding his swords up as a gesture of showing he had his. "How do you want to start?" Because if he'd ever sparred before, Jet didn't remember it. He walks over, meeting Rin about halfway, and waits.
Rin will set down the red case against the ground, and hold up the wooden sword. He was getting used to people not judging him for being a demon but he knew better to draw the KuriKara. Ever since Shura went off a few days ago though he hasn't had a chance to really practice with anyone, so he was more than excited to have a willing party to do so with. Plus Jet seemed like a pretty cool guy.
"I dunno, Shura usually just attacks me without warning." So without further ado, Rin charges at Jet and swings the practice sword out wide like a base ball bat.
"She--" He was cut off at the sight of a wooden sword? coming his way. Instinctively, Jet moved to the side to dodge it, crossing his own two blades in hopes of stopping it in front of him. A grin crossed his face - Rin seemed to know what he was doing, but his blade left the freedom fighter in question.
"I think I'd get along fine with this Shura." Even though he doubted he'd ever spar with her. Not that he knew her situation, but he didn't really trust everyone who wanted to throw a blade his way. Even with Rin, Jet made sure to stay on his toes. The wooden blade did make him feel more reassured, but you could never be too safe, right?
Right.
He stood more upright and pushed his blades against the wooden sword, letting go and dodging to the side before coming back with one sword above his head and the other in front of him, swinging at Rin. Think fast.
