Where: Outside Unohana's clinic, initially, and then around the Safe Zone.
Rating: PG, I'd say, for Shizuru's innuendos.
Summary: Shizuru and Natsuki are going house-hunting!

Natsuki, already on her way out, stopped momentarily in her track at Shizuru's remark, her expression darkening as she was trying to think of something witty to respond with, but a half grumbled, "Bah...!" was all she brought out in the end.

But when she was standing next to Shizuru, her face was already lighting up again - how could she be grumpy when they wanted to go looking for a house together?

Although many buildings here were nothing but barracks and clearly uninhabitable, on her few excursions through the city, she had also seen enough houses that had still been in quite a good condition, and she was convinced that if they only kept looking long enough, they would find a nice place to stay and make their own.

And suddenly getting restless, Natsuki pushed herself up into the air, with a happy grin looking down at her friend. "So, are you coming, or what?" she shouted.

"You say that like I can't fly faster than you, Gakuenchou," Shizuru said with a challenging smile. Before she could launch herself into the air after her friend, though, she hesitated slightly, her eyes sliding away from Natsuki's momentarily.

Shaking her head to clear it, she flew up and hovered in the air close to Natsuki. "Natsuki," she began.

Though eager to move on from the clinic, Shizuru found herself yearning to return home, to the Academy and to her old life. She wondered if Natsuki ever thought of it, too.

"Does...Natsuki think we may return to Windbloom?" There was a slight hint of a troubled expression on her face, but only someone (Natsuki) who had known her many years would have noticed the change.

"Faster than me?! In your dreams maybe!" replied Natsuki frolicking, well knowing that she was laying it on a bit too thick here

Shizuru's face grew hopeful at Natsuki's first sentence, but it quickly faded back into a sort of half-smile. Her hopes weren't exactly dashed, but hearing Natsuki confirm for the first time that it was unlikely they would return home certainly did put a damper on them.

"The time being," she echoed. Her smile wavered. Then, it strengthened and she gave Natsuki a reassuring (and somewhat affectionate) look. "I won't stop hoping, Natsuki."
