PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE ahandsomedevil July 16 2011, 05:17:45 UTC
Horst had asked Negi to meet him there an hour after sundown, and he waits, leaning against a legless desk that had long ago been smashed in half. Well it's not like he plans to spend a lot of time with it anyway....

Negi knocked on the door, biting his lip as he peeks his head around it.

"... you wanted to see me?"

"Yes." He stood and held out a burnt, singed slat of wood. It had a list written on it.

"Your class schedule."

Negi takes it, looking over the words, growing more and more confused.

"... what? But--"

Basically Delicious Edibles in Adstringendum seiryuusmartie July 16 2011, 05:22:09 UTC
She really didn't see the point in the name--it seemed to glamorize what was just a basic (and probably shabby) cooking class. She didn't even know if there were rations to waste being burnt or dropped (because with Miaka as a best friend for most of her life, she did expect the worst).

Still, Yui waited for whatever "students" there would be to stream in.

Guess who was right in the room, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed? It was a little rabbit who just loved food.

"Yui-chan, I didn't know you were teaching it!" Usagi grinned. If she'd been told, she'd forgotten, because school did not tend to stick in her mind.

Sharem came in shortly after Usagi, and leaned against the counter to watch.

"Usagi, right?" And a look aside. "And Yui?"

"Oh, hello, Usagi-chan." She flashed her friend a smile, and then blinked up at Sharem.

"Yes, I'm Yui. I don't think we've met...?"

Mathematics seiryuusmartie July 16 2011, 05:27:55 UTC
She was good at math, and that was part of the reason she had volunteered, but she had no idea if the potential pupils would be--or if an organized class was even possible with differences in skill level.

Maybe it hadn't been such a good idea to do this.

Katherine, patron of learning and study back in her England, was intrigued by the idea of a school in Adstringendum. It would face unique challenges, and she was interested to see how the teachers surmounted them.

When she realized a woman was teaching the mathematics class, she only became more interested. It was proof a woman could learn as well as a man, even instruct a man - though it was certainly bold to show it so openly.

Unsure of precisely what to expect of this strange sort of woman, Katherine entered the room with a quiet rustle of skirts.

Yui'd manage to find a textbook or two in the library, and looked up from flipping through them idly as Katherine came in.

"Good morning. I'm surprised I have a student, considering the more practical classes being offered."

"Good morning," Katherine returned the polite greeting easily. She waved off the surprise equally comfortably: "I wished to see the woman instructing in mathematics."

It presented an intriguing idea: women teachers for all subjects, teaching girls and women.

Strategy - ALL YOUR BASE checkmychainyo July 16 2011, 05:48:34 UTC
He wasn't sure how this whole...'teaching' thing would work out, though Kurapica believed himself to be a useful resource on the subject of analyzing information and cultivating strategy. If anyone, particularly those without powers, caught themselves in a pinch, he wanted to pass on some learning. He could only hope he would have willing students.

Jean Louis enters the classroom quietly, giving Kurapica a polite smile. He finds the subject matter interesting and in this place, he definitely has time to spare.

"Monsieur," he says, walking up to Kurapica and holding out a hand in greeting. "Our teacher, I expect?"

She figured that it couldn't hurt to brush up on creative ways to get the job done, so she filed in not long after Jean Louis, nodding at them both in greeting.

"Duroc-sama, Kurapica-san."

Kurapica approached the both of them and shook their hands in turn. "Ah, I am," he said, his expression calm - even though he was feeling a small nervousness. He turned to Jean Louis. "I don't think we've met. I'm Kurapica."

And then he turned to Sango. "You're...Sango-san, correct?"

Martial Arts checkmychainyo July 16 2011, 05:52:45 UTC
Kurapica was less in tune with specific martial arts techniques than self-defense overall: he was well-acquainted with Tanto blades, fighting stances, and reading your opponent's moves - though he had been relying on these things less and less with the development of his chain ability. He situated his class in an abandoned courtyard outside, where practice could be executed without destroying a classroom.

He was just looking in, really-- because there were some things that he just did by instinct, and fighting, well that was one of them... A few people had told him to hone his skills over the years, but generally those things seemed to go in one ear and out the other.

Still, perhaps it was a good idea to at least - give these things a go.

At a student's approach, Kurapica stood up from the ground and gave the smallest of courtesy smiles. "I suppose you're here for the class," he said. "I don't think we've met. I'm Kurapica."

He smiled awkwardly in return, lifting a hand to awkwardly rub the back of his neck, trying to keep the smile.

"Uh. I'm Uzumaki Naruto-- this... you're teachin' fightin' stuff right?"
