Given that their conversation had been mostly through a voice feed, Al realized belatedly that Mukuro might not know what he looked like. He hoped he wasn't the paranoid type.

Al himself made a fairly unremarkable picture. He looked about sixteen, long blond hair in a ponytail, a faded t-shirt, jeans, hiking boots. Some faint scars here and there. Only the heavy glints of gold in Al's eyes seemed different, but even that wasn't an oddity here.

He waved as he caught sight of the other teenager, offering a warm smile that matched the gentle voice.

"Hi!"

"Hello. You must be Alphonse." Or so he assumed, since Mukuro rather doubted anyone else would just wander up and say hello. He smiled in return, though his smiles always seemed to come out more on the cold side.

Mukuro looked about the same age as Al - unsurprising, since he'd had his sixteenth birthday not long after arriving. He was a little tall and definitely on the skinny side - it looked like he hadn't been eating well even before he came to Adstringendum. His hair was up in an odd style somewhat reminiscent of a pineapple, and his clothes looked as good as new.

But the first thing that stood out on Mukuro, rather than clothes or hair, was his right eye. A striking red, the pupil seemed oddly shaped, though without getting quite close it would be difficult to see exactly what it was.

He straightened, moving away from the wall to greet Al.

"I hope it wasn't difficult to find us."

Al beamed, ducking a short, polite bow and then holding out a hand to shake. "Nice to meet you in person, Mukuro."

Al definitely noted it. He'd seen the like of it before, though on a very different young man. It struggled and broke in his head, and after a moment he didn't remember having that thought at all.

"Nope," Al grinned. "I'm used to the coordinates system by now, the rest is just walking."

Mukuro shook Al's hand, his gloved grip firm. "And you as well. Thank you for taking the time out to help us like this."

He was studying Al, of course, like he studied everyone. Did he look strong, like he could fight? Not that it really mattered at the moment, of course - Mukuro's main interest lay in his supposed alchemy.

"I'll show you where the wall is - ah, and you should probably watch out for my student's pet toad."
