Ever since she saw that video post on the feed, Faye knew. She knew that things would only go from bad to worse. She knew that she needed to do something. It had to be stopped. That was why she'd spent all this time following him, pursuing, with the earnestness which she'd approach a reward worth hundreds of millions of woolongs.

When she finally happens upon him now, it's purely by chance. For all the chasing and tracking, she'd had absolutely no leads as to his whereabouts. Maybe she was rusty; it had been almost a year since she'd gone after any kind of bounty head, after all. Or maybe it was hesitation. Why was she here? What could she even do now that she was?

She stops and inhales sharply before she can stop it as she takes in the sight of him. Her grip on her gun tightens. But all she can do is wait.

Fran stops. He hears her, his head coming out of his hands and perking upward, listening for noise. She exhales, and his head whips around, those dead eyes almost looking as if there's shock in them.

For a moment he pauses, and it seems almost as if minute traces of recognition appear in his features. His body still shakes and spasms.

It passes just as quickly as is appeared. Giving a banshee-like cry, he sprints toward her, nails outward and torn jaw wide open.

Even if it passes just as quickly as it appeared, she sees it in his eyes. There's some part of Fran that's still left in there, in this... whatever he is now. She stares back into them for that one second, almost breathless. Waiting, against everything she logically knows, for him to say something. Hoping, beyond what she knows is reasonable that he'll come back.

... But she doesn't have time to dwell on it. Something primal in her clicks on at just the right moment, engaging a fighter instinct that overrides everything else. Attachments formed in this place. Stupid, impossible hopes.

With slightly shaking hands, she raises her gun as he sprints toward her, fingers on the trigger.

Though he was shaking before, as he sprints, his movements are unfaltering. He snarls and shrieks the entire way, his eyes resembling that of a very hungry wolf's.

He does not seem to register that he's currently at gunpoint. Once about 6 feet away from her, he leaps, aiming to bite down on her jugular.
