It had been one hell of a week. One long, worrisome, terrible, edgy, frightening week, and Spike had had it up to his eyeballs in stress. It was time for this shit to end. From waking up Sunday morning next to an unconscious Faye to waking up Wednesday next to the empty spot she'd occupied, he had been ready to punch something for the first three days, and kill something for the remaining four

Fran gets the message loud and clear. He'd been edging to leave anyway, so it was a welcome nod. This was a private moment, he could tell, and he probably shouldn't be seeing it.

"Mm. I'm leaving. The love confession scene is the most boring part anyway. See you."

He puts one hand in his pocket and strolls away, the other giving a small wave goodbye.

Hearing that causes her to stir slightly. For a moment, she had almost forgotten that Fran was even there. (Not quite, though, rest assured.) She makes a slight face as the knowledge that he was there watching all of that slowly begins to hit her. He'll probably have something to say about it later, like the surrogate little brother annoying frog kid that he is. At least she hadn't said anything too incriminating. That would've been worse
