Usagi is drawn to the Light Path; she has not yet learned to embrace the darkness or even that she needs it. She stares up at the enormous palace with evident awe before she starts her journey through the dreamscape.

Too bad, Usagi -- someone is standing in your way and the young boy before you has his arms crossed, almost petulantly, glaring up at you with obvious mistrust. But it's a boyish mistrust, one that is clearly not as bad as he makes it out to be.

"What do you want?" young Zuko demands.

Blink blink.

"Zuko?" Usagi can't help it, she really can't. He looks adorable young! "You still have such a serious face!"

There is a definitely tinge of pink to Zuko's cheeks as he fights down the urge to tell this girl off. Instead, he turns on his heel in a visible huff, stalking down the hall.

He obviously doesn't find this girl much of a threat, if he's allowing her into the palace.

"Are you gonna come or not?" he demands over his shoulder.

Fox looks up at the palace in awe. It's utterly amazing and unlike anything she'd ever even imagined before. This is her first clue that this dream isn't her own, but for the moment at least, she misses it. It may click into place later. She is drawn towards the light path, looking around amazedly, still unsure what to even think about this place.

"Hey!"

The petulant voice erupts almost immediately as Fox steps towards the light path.

You now have a nine year old Zuko standing in front of you, blocking your path.

"Where are you going?"

She stops short when the boy moves to block her. "I'm looking around, why~?" She smiles for him, though it's the smile of someone used to getting her way, self-assured and proud.

"Do you live here?"

Zuko hates that smile, because Azula uses that smile.

So have a very stubborn glare in return.

"Of course I live here, who else would live here?"

"Holy...." Ranma was honestly impressed by the grand castle, as seen with his blatant gaping. It was easily one of the best- if not THE best- palaces he had ever seen... heck, one of the best places he's ever been to. That made him wonder how his mind imagined it for this dream, but he simply shrugged and walked on the path he was drawn to- the light path.

Zuko is leaning against one of the arches, watching the boy come closer to his home, before he pushes himself upright, scowling.

"What d'you want?"

The pigtailed boy blinked at seeing a young and scarless version of Zuko with neat hair, but he simply decided to shrug it off. A dream was just a dream, after all. Didn't mean much... even though he could SWEAR that he's never seen a scarless Zuko before.

"I wanted to look 'round the palace. Is that so bad, kid?" Ranma remarked with a shrug as he pointed at the huge building.

"Did you get permission?" Zuko demands.

Vincent had seen enough darkness in his own mind to not choose it willingly when apparently in someone else's.

He started down the lighter path.

You are confronted with a nine year old Zuko glaring up at you, Vincent, his arms crossed stubbornly.

But his expression softens ever so slightly into something more familiar.

"Where are you going?"

Vincent blinks several times before he finally recognizes the boy.

"... Zuko."

He looks around a little.

"I don't know. Where is this ? Why am I here ?"

"It's the Fire Nation Palace."

He looks briefly confused at why Vincent doesn't know where he is, but Zuko shrugs to himself and turns on his heel.

"C'mon."

DARK PATH, booyah. Also, let's say it's Tuesday. kill_joo_ded March 10 2011, 08:14:34 UTC
Killua had never been one to choose bright lights over a bit of gloom. His skill lied in hiding in shadow, after all. Even as he began his jaunt, though, he couldn't hold back a small appreciative whistle. It was nice to see some quality architecture. Ever since he'd left home, so many places they'd stayed had seemed so small....

The hallway Killua found himself in was impossibly foreboding. It lacked any of the warmth and light the alternative path had -- there was an impossible amount of tension within the palace.

This was not home. It had stopped being home a long time ago.

There were portraits lining the walls of the hallway, massive paintings of Fire Lords long since passed. Some are family portraits, some are not, but the very last one in the line of paintings showed Fire Lord Ozai, tall, proud, and alone.

Standing in front of the portrait was a shadow, a spectre of a woman, elegant and graceful. She took notice of Killua, smiling softly and warmly at the sight of the boy, before turning away, disappearing into the shadows just outside of a massive wooden door, barred and sealed.

As soon as she vanished, a scream ripped through the air, from behind the door.
