Rachel had worked very hard on the 'secret party room' just beyond the audition room, but the moment Kurt arrived, it was hidden away expertly. She and Blaine had worked hard to make sure his birthday party was kept as good a secret as possible -- and, well, if there's one thing Rachel knows how to do, it's to find a reason to sing and celebrate.

For the time being, however, she was seated on the edge of a table, legs crossed, watching the door almost eagerly to see who would arrive first.

1:59 PM...

2:00PM.

"Let the show begin," Rachel said confidently to herself.

Hotaru gazed into the room. Her violin and bow held close. She had never actually auditioned for anyone before although she had faith in what her mother's ability to teach. Besides, she was thankfully only coming for instrumental. Hotaru was confident enough in her ability to play, the PCD seemed to like recording her when she had violin practice anyways.

"Hummel-san, Berry-san," she bowed in greeting. She looked around... was she the first to arrive? No, Minako would never be late for an audition. Perhaps she was just early then.

"Hotaru," Rachel said, inclining her head with a smile. "She's here to play violin," Rachel said in an undertone to Kurt, leaning over slightly. "I thought it best to recruit people of all musical talents."

"Violin?" he asked, turning to Rachel a bit and raising an eyebrow. Already there were song possibilities running through his mind. "I might actually have to admit that's a smart idea."

Then, he turned to Hotaru, adjusting the five pieces of paper he'd managed to gather into his lap, readying his pen for some notes. Just because everyone got in didn't mean he couldn't at least play the part of auditioner, right?

"How long have you been playing?"
