Naruto was nervous. He rarely felt nervous, or - rare felt it and knew it was nerves making his stomach churn. He never put much thought into anything more than food, training, and missions - but Hinata... was special to him now, too.

He'd abandoned his forehead protector, tried to do something to his hair, failed miserably, and settled with leaving - chuntering away to himself as he walked.

It was probably because he was talking to himself about what to say, what not to say, what to do, what not to do - that it was only at the very last minute he spotted Jack on the porch. Hinata's Father. On the first step up his body froze, and his back straightened.

The very abrupt freeze on that first step draw a wider smirk from the older man. It seemed he'd been spotted finally- and none too quickly. A single eyebrow arched as he ran his gaze meaningfully over the young blond. Shouldn't a ninja have noticed him far sooner?

"Well, well. It seems our 'guest' has finally arrived."

A normal ninja, maybe - one that wasn't quite so easily distracted perhaps.

"S-S-M-Mister O'Neill" He stuttered, swallowing thickly in an attempt to get his voice back. His eyes were fixed on the man, and he attempted to walk up the rest of the steps, tripping up on the next and... thankfully catching himself before he hit the floor.

"Ah. P-Pleased to m-meet you." He continued, bowing deeply. So... Hinata might have given him a few pointers.

There was a glint of approval at the bow, although it was almost canceled out at the amusement Jack quickly suppressed upon the tumble up the stairs. Now that had to be talent, to fall up rather than down. He didn't move from his own spot yet, however, instead just letting the boy sweat it out for a bit.

"So you're the boy dating my daughter. Kind of scrawny, aren't you?"
