It wasn't too long before Jack came home himself. The sight of her jacket brought a smile- it seemed at least one of the kids was home already. Kicking the door shut behind him, the old retiree headed towards the cabin's kitchen carefully, not wanting to spill the bucket of bounty he'd gotten at the lake. It was going to be- an interesting night.

"Heya Hinata," he called as he entered, placing the bucket onto the table. "You ready to get a feast ready for tonight?"

Hinata gave a slight start, then a smile lit up her face.

"Otou-sama !"

She came closer to the table, looking at the bucket with curiosity.

"What did you catch ?"

"Just a nice mix of- whatever it is that's in that lake." There was an amused look on his face as he glanced at the fish he'd brought. Most of the really out there fish he'd thrown back, but then, what he had caught wasn't exactly normal either. Definitely not any fish he was familiar with.

With a shrug, Jack stepped away from the table for a moment, shrugging out of his jacket and throwing it across some of the chairs. It was nice that the place was shaping into more of a home than the trash filled place he and Teal'c had first found. A place his family could truly call theirs.

"So. How'd your trip with- what's his name again? Naruto? Go?" Nevermind the fact that he was perfectly aware of the boy's name. Any boy dating one of his daughters was in for a nice, up close and personal, meet and greet with him. Heaven help the boy if he hurt Hinata...

Hinata didn't sem too fazed by the strange fish and almost immediately picked three from the bucket, examining them closely. They seemed to pass the inspection, and she brought them to the cutting board on the counter.

Thankfully, she had not picked up the knife when her father's seemingly innocent question came, or she might have cut her own hand rather badly. She was also glad that she had her back to him, so that he wouldn't see her go red.

Not that he wouldn't know it by the tone of her voice anyway, but still ...

"I-It was good. Thank you for inviting him for dinner, Otou-sama."
