Slinging her backpack over her shoulder, Natsuki left their room, after a few steps down the corridor turning around again, impatiently looking back at the still open door. Where was she?

"Shizuruu! Shizuruu!" she shouted cheerfully, inwardly bouncing up and down.

The whole day, she had been filled with joyful anticipation, and now that they were finally going, she felt like she could not wait one minute longer or she she would surely burst.

She knew deep down that they were not going on a holiday, that unknown dangers were lying ahead of them, but she just couldn't help it - she had been idle for too long, had seen the same desolate streets and run-down buildings for too long, it was due time for a break from all that.

Shizuru, amused by Natsuki's bounciness that morning, called, "I'm coming!" and made her way down the stairs slowly and more gracefully than her excitable companion.

She'd let Natsuki do most of the packing for both of them, given that she wasn't a high-maintenance person by any means, but she had brought along a few things of her own in a knapsack she had over her shoulder. Remaining in her black boots, she'd chosen a white sweater and black pants, hair braided and secured with a tie.

To say the least, Shizuru was ready to face the wilderness. And, quite possibly, a very excited Natsuki. (That was what her calming chamomile tea was for.)

"Have you got everything, Natsuki?" she smiled, standing beside the other woman with an expectant expression.

Natsuki nodded, a happy smile spreading over her face as she was looking at her friend. Yes, now she had everything. But why were they standing again?

Hesitantly at first, but then more confident, she reached out and took the brunette's hand. "Come!" she said lightheartedly, and walking towards the front door, she pulled Shizuru after her, a light blush adorning her cheeks.

"So forceful," Shizuru murmured. Nonetheless, she let Natsuki pull her along to wherever it was she was taking them. (Again, Shizuru had caught herself spacing out whilst watching Natsuki talk, rather than listening.) Something about an expedition into the "wastelands."

She didn't mind where they were going, so long as Natsuki kept holding her hand.

Kage had no intention of cutting corners with this little outing, and as such he was outfitted in his full power armor, along with all the weapons he had originally brought with him, as they were the most potent weapons he had.

He idly thanked whatever higher power may be up there for the small solar panel that he'd found, as it'd allowed him to recharge his armor's power supply. Since having it die on him out in the middle of nowhere would hardly be a good thing.

Always the good soldier, he'd been ready early, and was already knocking on the door of his acting captain's clinic.

((Lets try this again.))

It was a lovely morning considering, and Faust was ready to make the most of it. He'd arrived with a new hat, and coat over his lab coat. He'd even found a new scarf and had everything carefully done up to hide his torso. On his back was a well stocked pack; he was quite used to traveling. Held in one had was his new companion, the dufflebag, with it's chain snaked around his arm. In the other, his heavy axe; a long staffed weapon with a guillotine blade attached.

Arriving, He stepped up to the door, knocking. Though he'd planned for the worst, he was hoping it would be a primarily pleasant trip and a good opportunity to catch up with Unohana.

Unohana opened the door to find both Kage and faust outside, and she welcomed them both with a smile.

"Faust-san, lovely to see you again. It has been a while. Lieutenant, I trust you're ready ?"

"Set and ready, Captain." he answered with a salute. "Is there anything you'd like me to do before we depart?"

Unohana led the way for the small group, walking resolutely along the rubble, keeping everyone going with a smile, and conversation. This truly looked more like a field trip rather than an expedition.

"Well, hopefully, we will find some interesting samples. It would be great if we could start a garden," she said, talking to no one and everyone.

Kage was walking closely behind Unohana, just off to her right side. While it might've been better for him to bring up the rear for when they left the safezone, he would be able to respond quickly to any threats that might arise due to what he was. That, and he was under the impression of needing to get back in his acting captain's good graces.

"I'm hoping to see if there's any good equipment out there. I've been trying to make a water purification and storage unit, but I haven't found everything I need in the remains of the city."

Momentarily distracted in her Natsuki-teasing, Shizuru noticed the others that were gathered outside the clinic were beginning to move off. She drew away and took Natsuki's hand, pulling her in their direction.

"Let's hope this is an interesting expedition, Natsuki," she murmured under her breath with a predatory smile.

"Hopefully this trip will be a success for all of us."

It was difficult for Unohana to put all of her worries aside. There was Kuchiki-san, there was Raoh-san, there was this newcomer who seemed intent on breeding conflict ...

A break for it might well be what she needed, but her habit of monitoring the peace and maintaining it at all cost would not go away just like that. At leats, she was gifted enough to hide it under her smile and calm demeanor.

"Some people have mentioned rather large creatures roaming this land, but we have yet to see any ... I wonder if they only live in certain areas ?"
