It took him a few minutes to look through the house and eventually Madara found himself outside. It wasn't long before he noticed his brother sitting in the large tree outside the house. He climbed the tree with ease and settled himself next to Izuna.
"Good job Otouto. This is a good spot to keep an eye out for the enemy."
Reply
He bumped shoulders with his brother and nodded quickly, eyes alight with excitement. And mischief.
"Mm...! I can see everything from here!"
Reply
"Has everything been clear up here, Izuna?" Madara questioned, as if he were the commander of a military unit. "No Senju sightings yet?"
It was strange. He hadn't seen one Senju here yet. Normally, back home, the Senju wouldn't waste any time in attacking Madara and Izuna, especially if they were separated from the clan. But so far...there had been nothing.
Maybe they were planning a sneak attack.

"I haven't seen any yet, but Senju are sneaky. They could be hiding and waiting for me to lower my guard. And then they'll strike!"

He had to squint to be able to see who it was, though... The person in the tree, as far as he could tell, was...him.

Instead of hiding, he squared his shoulders bravely and took a steadying breath, then hollered down at the imitator. "Who are you?"
Reply
"'M Sasuke...."

Izuna hopped to his feet and barreled down the side of the tree before he had a chance to change his mind. Rapid steps brought him to Sasuke's level quickly in a vertical sprint, and he dives to the ground in front of him in a flurry of leaves and wind.
One hand points dramatically at Sasuke, the other propping on his own hip in a no-nonsense way. "Tell me why you henge'd into me, trespasser!"

So it was with unexpected bravery that he peered up into the branches of the tree and waved back.

It didn't seem to matter, he just transferred to walking on the tree itself in a vertical rush down to Hitsu, like the usual laws of gravity didn't apply. "You tickle the air," he proclaimed when he was close enough to talk, eyes curiously wide. "It's all prickly!"
Reply
"I don't do anything like that! What are you talking about?"

Izuna held out his arms and pushed back the sleeves to bunch at his elbows, so he could show the pretty stranger-san his goose bumps. It didn't seem to bother him in the least, if his small 'brr' and smile were any indication. Instead he inched closer, to see if proximity had anything to do with it.
The closer he got to Hitsugaya, the stronger that tickelish feeling was! What a strange bloodline limit!

"You made it," he cheered, only to have his voice dashed apart by another yawn. He reached the ground and stepped away from the tree, falling into a crouch beside Snape so he could offer a reassuring smile. "And you're all mussed up, did you get in a fight?"
Reply
"The kitties and bunnies here aren't very nice at all. They have t-teeth."
Lots and lots of sharp teeth at that, if the smudges of blood had anything to say. Oh dear, poor Severus, getting beat up by cute furry animals... However was he going to live this down?

"My healing jutsu isn't that good," he warned before concentrating. After a few moments a light green glow started misting from his hands, and he touched them to Severus' shoulder to disinfect the wound there and coax the skin to shut again.
"They ruined your clothes," he lamented, "come inside, you can have some of mine! And you need a bath, you smell like bunny. Bunnies don't smell very good. And then we can eat. And train!"

Why did kids choose to seek the highest or most dangerous places for their entertainment? Itachi tried to think back to his childhood. His favorite place was the forest, certainly it wasn't as dangerous as a tree. Hopefully he wasn't so clumsy.
"Izuna-kun." He called out squinting through the leaves.

He cast around in a panic and grabbed the first thing within reach.
With a small, high war-cry, acorns suddenly rained down on Itachi from above. To arms!
Reply
"Is that your way of greeting fellow Uchiha? Hos disappointing."
Itachi figured that if Madara was running around thinking the Senju did everything, then this was probably the same case with Izuna. The boy was a strange one but he noted the bravery. Uchiha children were all the same in that aspect, they fought for their honor even before they really knew what honor was.
"Stop this."
Reply
Oh. That was different, then.
His hands fell away and the acorn rain stopped as quickly as it'd begun, with only one or two strays left to clatter their way down and roll harmlessly around Itachi's feet. A pair of red, red eyes peered over the edge of a wide branch, suspiciously slitted.
"Show me your eyes," he demanded, his voice only wavering just a little bit.
