It's been proven that the best way to improve communications between people whilst we're here is by holding our own events.

I'm pretty sure we'd be able to put together some kind of show, or something to cheer the mood. Besides, being together is bound to help at the moment... what with the problems with our PCDs.

If anyone has any ideas about what we could do? Maybe a festival? Another picnic?

*Jr. has decided that it would be a good idea to wear a longcoat and cowboy hat to this meeting.* There's the book club idea I mentioned earlier. I doubt everyone's gonna be interested, but it'll help get people with common interests together and give 'em something to talk about.

Books huh?

Sounds like a good idea if there are enough people interested.

Yeah. Figure we may as well put the library to good use.

Nice to meet you in person, by the way. *He offers his hand, ignoring the red 666 on the palm in a way that suggests he doesn't want to pay attention to it.*

I've given this a lot of thought.

Actually, I wondered whether a solution would be to hold classes.

I'm pretty sure that plenty of us would be able to use our skills to teach others who, would willingly be trained. We could use the hall to practice, perhaps a few times a week?

Of course it will require a little organisation. I suppose I'm hoping someone would like to step up to the mark?

I know there are quite a few of us here who are already proficient in fighting with a blade, but there are also those who don't know how. I would be willing to help out in any way I could, although my health sometimes gets the better of me.

I would also accept help in that case, just to make sure everything gets accomplished.

Swords?

Sounds risky, but I suppose they're efficient. Your help would be grateful, know that.

Katana, zanpakutou, whatever you prefer to call them, yes.

My offer stands for whenever I am needed.

FOOD general_mustang May 11 2010, 16:43:51 UTC
Why did I do this to myself?

I'm aware that for some people food can be a real pain. With the help of Ling, [Have a gesture to the stupid prince.] I thought about securing one of the rooms here in this hall as a storage place. Obviously, it's wise not to put all our eggs into one basket - so I'd recommend that anyone who has their own stores of food keep them there, where they are safe.

It's my belief that everyone should have a small store of food in their homes. None of us have the faintest idea what the Animus are going to spring on us next.

Perhaps with the stores here at the hall we could run an evening once a week where volunteers could offer themselves to help make something for the masses. I'm welcoming ideas...

[Ling grinned when he was pointed out, though it was hard to tell whether that grin was because of Mustang's muttered aggravation or because of that "chief" comment earlier. Either way, the grin was there as he lifted a finger and added his own two cents.]

Actually, Miss Unohana was kind enough to point out that a prior tenant used to run a general storage out of a warehouse. I checked it out a while back. There's still a lot of stuff in there, but no one's in charge anymore and there's room.

[He'd seen the grin, but he supposed he couldn't fault the Xing Prince. He'd given him a title, and apparently Ling liked it. Nodding slowly he returned the smile.]

Sounds like a plan. You'd prefer to use that, then?

[In the end, it wasn't the title. It was that Mustang was willing to call him by a title that was such a sweet prize.]

It'd be a decent place to store rations that won't spoil, in case anyone runs out, but it really would be best if food storages stuck around in every home and business, especially places like clinics and malls.

WATER general_mustang May 11 2010, 16:45:30 UTC
I have blueprints of the city's underground pipework. There have been several suggested methods to ensure that every building in the city has a clean supply of water.

The question, of course, is how do we proceed? How do we monitor the level of purity of the water?

Hey. I know this guy who's pretty interested in the water deal. Name's Wonka.

Wonka, huh?

I'm guessing as far as you know you feel you can trust him?

Somewhat. I mean we had plans for me, Winry and him to work on getting some plumbing going in our place, and so far he's trustworthy. I think he's more upset at the fact this is taking so long.

And of course, I'm open to everyone's ideas.

We can only make this work by working as a team, I'm only one man. That I am acutely aware of.

[ooc: and please feel free to have your character mention any developments you like! I just picked four of the main ones, but Roy isn't going to say no to any ideas. He just wants to make Adstringendum a better place~]

There is one thing, colonel, and it's a major thing.

We have no justice system in place. People who commit crimes - which usually means major violence in this city - we have no way of dealing with them, except the most basic vigilantism, and that is not proving itself. We cannot subsist forever on a balance of terror.

...

Whether we'd be able to contain these people is another question that I'm not sure we have any right to address.

I'm not dismissing the idea. I think it's something we'd need long hours to consider.

Then we should find the time. Anything that happens while we put off the difficult questions, is partly on our conscience.
