Even though he was supposed to play a minor part in this game of cat and mouse, he was no less calm about it. This was different for Hawke. People didn't hunt people down where he was from, but he knew that Saul had to be stopped. Saul was a force, and from what he could tell from the last encounter, people needed as much magical help as they could get. Which meant that Hawke would help. It made him extremely uneasy, and he wondered if Shai felt the same way when the Elder asked him to discipline someone for breaking the rules.

He was not in the least bit surprised that some human believes himself to be special due to excessive violent behavior. To say he didn't have a good or open view on humans as a whole was putting it kindly. Hawke had been raised by faunlyn, there for was faunlyn as far as he was concerned.
Still, innocents needed protecting, regardless of who or what they were.

He gave Hawke a silent look, then put himself in front.

The young lady was not too far from her, and she would protect her with all of her might, but she had meant what she had said to Koumei : cruelty would be not only unnecessary but counter-productive in the long run.
She felt the air chilling as he came in and took a deep breath. This was it. The test. he held out her hand in front of her, ready to cast a protective spell as soon as he would attack.

All she could do was watch and consider. Unohana was useful in her own way, someone Carmen would not care to see die, but Unohana could defend herself. The focus of this was Saul. Idly Carmen dabbled with the idea of stealing Saul. She had not yet come to a decision when she heard Saul's voice and felt the static in the air. He was here, the stage was set.
Carmen would reach her decision as she watched.

Pissing Saul off. One of those things she was finding herself really good at. "Nah, it's just beginning, boy," she taunted, sending a burst of chakra to her muscles to ensure she had a better chance of dodging any physical attack he wanted to throw at her.

The word was a snort of contempt as Saul deflected the knives easily with a powerful gust of wind. He should have known that Anko would try to make good on her threats. He had no time for her, nor for any of the others he sensed inside the warehouse. He had only one target now.
The air began to crackle and thicken with electric tension around him, building up to a lightning strike. "This isn't your battle, doma. Go, or I'll turn you to cinders."

Another knife appearing in her hand from where it had been secreted away, Anko flicked the edge of the blade with her tongue, before attacking him with this one, head on.
She really fucking hoped this plan worked...

She was daring, more daring than he expected. Normally, he'd not have shown his power to her, not so early on to be sure, but now he was impatient. He slammed another gust of wind into her, a freezing blow; then he released the lightning strike.
The air snapped, sizzling, crackling. The burst of electricity rushed at Anko like a hungry beast, at her - and away from her, past her, at the rods of metal that had been meticulously placed in the back of the warehouse.
The current buzzed. Something shifted with a clang of steel against steel. Then a slam, and another, and another. The windows slamming shut, then both doors, locking the combatants inside, and Saul away from the sky from which he summoned his power. The warehouse was sealed in two heartbeats, leaving him to stare, thrown off, as clouds and wind began to dissipate.
The trap had been sprung.
