The party reminded him of that one time he attended his sister's dance at her school. There were people here dressed in what they considered as finery, smiling and laughing and mingling. His eyes strained to find someone familiar, feeling more like an outsider as he gave another tug on the pants he wore. Part of him felt thankful of the time Rosalie made him go clothes shopping.

The slacks were dark and clean cut, but he still wore the sandals. He wore a black shirt to match the slacks, the first three buttons undone to help him feel a little more comfortable. His hair was free, draping over his shoulders to frame his face. In one lock of hair were a few coin sized gold pieces. Upon closer inspection, they looked like they came from a large snake or fish. They caught the light when he turned his head a certain way, and from time to time his fingers lifted to touch them fondly.

He had to smile when he spotted Hawke. The guy had obviously tried his best to make an effort and for that he was grateful. Lifting a hand he waved to the man, trying to get his attention before he got to him - wandering over calmly.

"Hawke. How are the pants?"

He quickly caught the motion out of the corner of his eye and saw Mustang. He knew the man's heart and smiled, pulling some stray hair away from his face to greet him properly. Hawke made a small bow, smiling slightly.

"They are terrible. Very itchy and hold back movement." It was an honest answer, but he would remain in them for the duration of the event. "You are well, Mustang?"

He chuckled softly at the honesty, letting out a sigh and dropping his gaze to the pants in question briefly. "My apologies. Your determination hasn't gone unnoticed though, hmn?"

With a shake of his head he was looking back at Hawke again. "I am now we're all finally here."

These sorts of parties were not something Ai was used to. Since there were lots of grown-ups attending, the kogal thought she should dress grown-up too. ...well at least her version of grown-up which always consisted of a lot less clothing.

Wearing a long blonde wig totally styled with banana curls everywhere, it was just the start of doing what she did best, not looking anything like herself. A deep cut V mini-dress adorned in lines of color, it was like it formed a big sparkly rainbow. A pair of wedge platforms and lots of make-up and colorful jewelry to boot made her wardrobe complete.

But there was still one more "accessory" left if it could be called that.

Ai's pet Chinchilla sat on her shoulder wearing a mini-top hat on it's head and a little black suit and tie to boot. How the rodent was trained so well to live through getting dressed up one may never know.

Social gatherings were interesting... he'd already explained how he felt about them to Hawke. It was interesting to spend time doing nothing but learning about people, watching their reactions, predicting how they would move, dreaming up theories about what they thought.

... Wondering how they thought they looked good dressed so ridiculously.

Without a word he turned his back to Ai, who he spotted without much difficulty - and hunted for someone to talk to.

This was pretty normal for girls into the same fashions as her back home. Placing two fingertips against her chin in thought, when she turned her head she saw a back that she certainly remembered. Ai never forgot a guy's back....maybe because she was busy staring at said guy's butt.

Why didn't he want to talk to her? Didn't she look super mega gorgeous? Tilting her head with a frown, it only took her about a half-second to get over it and go after him like prey.

If a ninja wore platforms, that was how she walked. As silently and quickly as possible, as she got closer to Roy she began to spread her arms outwards aiming to go in for the kill.

It wouldn't be long before Roy might feel small arms wrapping around his chest and the warmth of another body pressing against his back in embrace.

"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!" Calling out in her high-pitched voice from hell, she giggled.

He thought he'd escaped it, so when he felt small arms wrap around his chest his entire frame went rigid, leaving his arms outstretched in front of him, eyes wide even as he turned to look at his assailant.

He didn't know why he bothered to check, there was no one he knew who would creep up on him like that, and call out at him so loudly in the middle of a crowd this quiet. She'd be heard across the whole room - he knew.

"Ai!" He yelped, brain engaging and hands immediately moving to grab her own, prising them from his person. He'd grown to enjoy the feeling of arms around him, but these were not the right ones. "Hi." He responded finally, cheerily as possible as he turned, firmly placing her hands in front of her and down, away from his body. "How good to see you here." There was even a smile.

Ulquiorra didn't really care to socialize and, honestly, had only agreed to come because he was curious about why he'd been invited.

Though his Espada uniform would normally qualify as formal wear, it had been ruined in his fight with Hitsugaya and so he was instead wearing the emerald green suit he'd gotten from the ball. But he wasn't interested in talking to anyone and as soon as he entered, he drifted off to the side to silently watch the crowd.

He'd decided that he would make a point of interacting with every one of the people who had been chosen for the dance. This one was a spectator he assumed. Well, he could gel with anyone if he needed to and with a calm, unhurried movement he wandered to rest against the wall not too far from the man, leaning against the wall with a glass in hand.

He glanced over at the human, recognizing him as the man that had sent out the invitations, and nodded slightly to show that he was aware he was there. As always, his hands were in his pockets, though unusually, his katana was more toward the back and difficult to see as he had no sash to tuck it into and thus had had to rig up a makeshift sword belt.

"I was going to ask if you're enjoying yourself." He said simply, watching the man with a cautious eye and finally offering a smile.

Slightly less than punctual, Raven entered the building, dressed in a black suit he'd managed to procure. He knew the reason for this event thanks to Rangiku's kind description. He wanted to do anything he could to help make the city a better place, and given where he came from, he had a few pretty good ideas. But he'd be lying if he said he wasn't looking forward to seeing her again.

He looked around the venue with an appreciative eye, making his way to the buffet table and picking out a few appetizers.

Rangiku was wearing the same dress she had gotten from the Christmas Ball, happy to wear it again. She had seen raven enter and went to meet him at the buffet. "Hungry?" She giggled.

"Just a little," he said, swallowing a mini quiche. The dress she was in looked fantastic on her, hugging her curves in all the right places. He began to envy the dress.

With a warm smile, he gave her a hug. "Great ta see ya, Ran," he said, refraining from letting his hands wander too far south.

She Hugged him back.

"Likewise. How's the bar? Sorry I haven't been by in a while. Been really busy."

This young man wearing dark slacks, dark shirt, and out of place sandals strode by, deciding to investigate the refreshment table. He had long blond hair that draped freely over his shoulders with a braid that held gold colored coins in it.

Apparently, the drink offered was supposed to be alcoholic in nature, or at least some of it. He lifted a small cup, breathing in the scent and smirking some when he thought that people believed this to be strong. Human drink really was weak, at least as far as he was concerned. But he sampled it, looking around the room to see if anyone seemed interesting.

He knew he was being watched, but he didn't confront it directly. He nodded over to the young man, letting Squall knew that he was being observed and then went back to sampling his drink, keeping an eye out for any of his other friends.
