Ulquiorra felt that energy flare and knew what it meant. With Mercielago tied firmly at his waist, he went out to meet the young Shinigami. He wouldn't risk destroying his shelter. Fortunately, he wasn't one of those lesser men that could be terrified by a glare and his own expression was one that had caused the likes of Grimmjow to freeze in terror.

He'd known this was coming. He'd expected something like this from the moment he'd arrived, though he'd hoped it wouldn't come to this. He'd been a fool. He shouldn't have trusted the Shinigami as much as he had, they were enemies and always would be. Even that woman that had suggested the truce was probably trying to use him. Well, that would end today. He would show them once and for all what happened when you trifled with the Cuarta Espada. The Shinigami was charging into his own grave.

Hitsugaya was equally unphased by the initial eye contact, and once the Espada approached, he drew the wakizashi from its sheath, tossing the sheath aside. He wasn't used to fighting with such a short and light blade, but he could adjust. There was a reason he was regarded as a genius.

Quite frankly, he considered the fact that he hadn't hidden his reiatsu and attacked without warning a huge favor to the Espada undeserving as such. But it wasn't within his nature to resort to those tactics right away, even now. If he couldn't trust anyone else, the only one he could trust was himself. And so for now, he'd trust his instinct.

"Are you prepared?"

He glanced at the weapon as he removed his hands from his pockets, but didn't draw his own blade. Without his Zanpakutou, the Shinigami was lacking his most powerful abilities. While a Captain-class Shinigami using Bankai might be a threat if he didn't take the fight seriously, one without his Zanpakutou was nothing but trash. "Of course."

If the Espada wasn't going to draw its weapon, then Hitsugaya wasn't going to complain. He'd take what he could get. He wasn't so far gone that he thought this would be a normal fight; it would probably take a miracle for him to win. But waiting would only lessen his chances even further.

He was still for another second or two, breathing in and out slowly. Then he stepped into a quick shunpo, rushing behind his opponent and throwing a one-handed swing to the back of Ulquiorra's neck. In hopes that the Espada would recognize the weapon couldn't hurt him and allow it to hit out of arrogance, he prepared a hadou spell with his other hand, a painful electric current meant to travel down the blade and course through the Espada's body.

"Hadou 11: Tsuzuri Raiden!"

Sorry, don't mean to barge in, just wondering - would it be okay if Aizen senses the fight and shows up? If not I can just have him not realize anything's going on, I'm just thinking he'd like to support his Ulqui-chan ^^;;;

Sounds fine to me! ^_^ was going to have ran broadcast a distress to everyone from the home world. Which will include Aizen XD but if he's nearby enough, have him come before hand! XD
