Now that he was feeling better, he wanted to help. Edward was doing well in Unohana's clinic, so he had let the appropriate people know that he was going to head out for a bit to see if he could find some fresh meat. After all, it would be a nice thank you for all of the hospitality he's received.

While most of the people stayed indoors, Hawke figured that he wouldn't have that hard a time finding a rabbit or two this close to civilization, so he wouldn't have to go very far. He continued on his way, dressed in his winter cloak and with a spear in hand for his hunt.

There weren't ton of people out and about. Maes wondered if everyone was staying with the people they cared about, or if other things were going on.

Up ahead there was someone with a spear. A few steps closer revealed it to be Hawke. Maes didn't mind Hawke, though he tried to keep the posts from being seen by Baby.

"Hawke!" As Maes got closer, he was struck by an inexplicable urge to hug the other man. Why not? They were here. He was alive. Life was pretty good, in the end. Maes approached and held his arm out. "Hug?"

He had sensed the man long before he saw him. But since Maes' heartbeat was unfamiliar, he watched cautiously. And when Maes opened up his arms with that question, it threw him a little. The people of Adstring, as he learned to identify everyone, weren't so open.

Perhaps with the empty promise that they were going home, things had changed? He straightened, tilting his head curiously. Well, if he wanted a hug, Hawke shouldn't be stingy, should he? And he didn't sense malace from the man, either. With a small, quirky smile, he stepped forward as well, accepting the hug and giving one of his own with a warm purr.

With a beaming smile, Maes embraced Hawke. It was a tight squeeze, but it wasn't as long as he had given Baby. It was tempting, but it was a little strange to do that.

"I'm glad you're still here. I'm glad to be here." That seemed to explain why Maes was happy enough to just hug people. He still didn't quite get it, but it was a huge relief to be alive.

:D I SAY IT'S THURSDAY~ I actually used a random number generator. 2ndlt_jeanhavoc January 25 2010, 14:07:14 UTC
Jean had a similar idea, only his outing was to find something nice to keep both girls that stayed either in or around his house happy. Probably something for Killua too if he happened upon it.

Seeing Hughes wasn't the problem, or why Jean had stopped abruptly. It wasn't unusual to run into people out in the open and it did make sense since they were in the same quadrant. He just never was certain if it was Envy or not. Nah there's no random way that Envy would choose that moment to wander around as Hughes, too astronomical.

He was really quite happy to see Hughes, because if anyone in Adstring would know about Photo's it'd be him.

"Lieutenant!" By now he'd figured out what was up with the hugging, but he didn't mind. As long as he didn't run into someone he really didn't want to hug, Maes was good. And there were only a few of those in the city. He liked a lot of people.

There was always the chance of Envy when Maes ran into other people from his world, and he knew to be cautious. "How is your house going? Careful how you answer, I might wind up hugging you." Maes gave Havoc a wink. This was one of the most harmless events ever.

Jean's more than convinced its Hughes when his name is called out like that. There's really no one in the world who could mimic that truly caring sound in Hughes voice that always seems to ring through. With that he had no problem walking up, "Brigadier General~!" he answered in return. A broad smile kept itself nestled on Jean's lips as he listens before answering.

There's a nice confused look about the hug though. Not that he'd have pushed away, or other such things, these people were his family as far as he was concerned, "Hug me, Sir? I dunno' I'm not so much squishy. House is goin' good. Nice n'warm now on the first floor.. Managed water t'the main house in a couple rooms only. How 'bout you? Out doin' some shoppin'?"

Maes shrugged in regards to the protest. "Come now, Lieutenant. I'm sure you've noticed by now what's going on as far as this week. I want to hug everyone, and so I'm giving in when it's someone I like! Let me hug you this once and I'll probably never try to again." He grinned.

"I'm out shopping, yes. The blizzard has made it difficult, but we need the supplies. You?"

We'll say Wednesday? It sounds so... in the middle. XD vedaandme January 27 2010, 09:44:56 UTC
Tieria did not like bad weather. However, he wasn't going to be a freeloader off Aya, so out he went for supplies to help out, bundled up as much as he could with his PCD in his pocket. He'd left Haro 'home', but kept the feed running on a tight encryption to it so the robot could notify Aya if there was a problem. Not that he anticipated one at this point, but he certainly wasn't going to go out unprepared.

Maes waved to the person up ahead, not sure he knew who they were. Upon getting closer, though, he realized it was... Tieria? Was that the name of the man? He'd been here before, and only recently arrived again, if Maes remembered correctly.

"Hello! How are you?" He was getting a bit close to the other man. Maes hoped Tieria didn't mind hugs.

Tieria looked at the other man for a moment, trying to figure out if they were on friendly terms or not from last time. He seemed friendly enough.

"Hello," he responded, sounding mildly unsure of who Maes might be or might have been to him.

"I'm Maes Hughes. Tieria, right? We met briefly last time you were here, casually." He figured that was one of the first questions someone would have on learning that they'd been in the city before. Sometimes he wondered if that was a comforting answer - known but not too much - or if people preferred to not have been known.

"I don't know if you've had events explained yet? Because I might wind up hugging you. It's been that sort of week..."
