Over the years of her life, Nel had discovered that as a child she could easily crawl into places her larger "cousins" could not reach. Rocks, sand dunes, odd quarts-tree knots - all afforded equal protection, and this strange fake-rock seemed the same.

And yet, Mr. Spooky Bad Thing found her. And was asking her to come out. She was mostly sure he wanted to help, but...

"Ith it thafe?"

His boots came into her line of view and he dropped down to look in on her, firey eyes glowing in the dim.

"Yes it safe my dear. no turkeys here." he answered

She honestly reeled back when the eyes popped into view. The glow spooked her, the color reminding her of Cero and things one needed to run from. And when one was wounded with a gash on one's side, seeing that isn't reassuring

But the report of no turkeys helped a bit, despite vaugely feeling Ted's soul on the endge of her ability, and she cautiously slid forward.

"You pwomithe?"

"Promise." he kneeled down and held his hand out to her to take. "Let's get you home Nel."
