There was a mixture of soot and oven grease on his fingers. Tamaki stared down at the central oven with an expression of shock and hurt: this sort of thing was altogether too much like the life of a commoner. And the water, as it usually did, was taking very long to heat up. At least that meant it wasn't too hot to wash in.

Grumbling a little, he poured some of it into a larger-than-usual cup, put the kettle back on the hob, and swished his fingers in the warm water. It didn't seem to have much of an effect. He could feel a pout coming on.

Rain found the salon rather easily and strolled up to the door and knocked.

"Hello?"

And now there was a knock on the door. Any other time, he would have been delighted, but how could he ever show himself for a customer in this state? His fingers weren't perfect; it would be insulting, it..!

...but then again, they weren't technically open yet, were they? It was not yet four o'clock. That meant he could be rude.

"Who is it?" he called out, moving to duck behind the oven should it turn out to be someone who had to be let in.

"Oh--It's Rain. Is this a bad time?"

He sounded a little apprehensive, but really more curious than anything.
