Sakura, upon walking into the hot springs, placed her mask
on her face. She wasn't very used to costume type parties, but this sounded like fun so she decided to go. She was feeling a lot better than she had been feeling the week before, since she had that week to get her chakra levels back to normal. And how she was back in top condition.

She brushed some of her pink hair behind her ear as he glanced around the area.

To tell the truth, Saul had had a hard time bringing up the mood for this sort of party, and until the last moment he wasn't sure he'd show up. Still, he'd taken the time and effort to create his costume, and that had been a pleasure in itself - the pleasure of both craft and tradition, recreating the beautiful outfits he'd only seen and admired as a small boy and had never had the chance to wear. But his hands were clever, and he was proud of the results - and happy, he had to admit, with how he was completely unrecognizable.

As he wandered in and across the impromptu dance floor, part of him regretted not asking Carmen to accompany him. But another part needed it percisely this way - alone, unknown, decked in splendor, and watching. He approached the pink-haired girl exactly because she was a stranger.

"Lovely, isn't it? You'd think so much color would be an everyday occurence here."

((OOC: Saul's wearing a Venetian carnival outfit a lot like this one. His face is completely covered and the mask distorts his voice.)

"Hm?"

Sakura turned when the stranger approached her. She didn't recognize the man, obviously since the mask covered his entire face. She also didn't recognize his voice, so perhaps he was new here?

"Yes, it is nice. Maybe we should have these types of get togethers more often. It might lighten everyone's spirits a bit."

Behind his mask, Saul studied the girl with some curiosity. Was the pink hair natural? It looked as much, and she seemed a gentle sort. He picked up a random pair of cups from the table and offered one to her.

"That, and build community, mm? But perhaps for this end, not with masks." He laughed quietly.

Madara had decided to come to this party for, for lack of a better reason, his own amusement. He was invited after all, who was he to turn down such an invitation?

Madara strolled into the party, decked in the Red Death costume he had found one day. The costume had caught his eye quite a bit ago and, this was the perfect excuse to show it off. However created this outfit clearly had good taste. The only difference from how he found it was that he replaced the smaller sword with his katana.

Holding a cup of punch in one hand, Chaera carefully approached the man whose costume resembled a Red Wizard of Thay. The Red Wizards were no friends of hers, but it was the only sign of home she had seen since her arrival. Everything around her seemed so alien and strange, even the alcohol. At this point she was wishing strongly for mead, or even Duncan's ale.

"An interesting costume," she said pleasantly, a smile on her lips, though her posture was still a bit guarded. "Did you find it in the city, sir?"

"Thank you," Madara said with a bow. He could be civil when he wanted to and there was no need to cause a commotion here, especially seeing as he had many enemies here. "I did find it in the city. A few days ago, I was wandering through the shops and it caught my eye. I figured that it would be an interesting ensemble for this party."

A curtsey would have looked ridiculous without a skirt, and Chaera had no idea which foot to put forward for one of those anyway, so she merely copied the man's bow with a smile.

"I was told about the shops," she admitted, a true note of interest in her voice. "But I haven't had the chance to do much exploring. Is there any place you would recommend?"

When he had found the aging candy sitting in a pocket of his backpack, Negi had been surprised. Not much, considering his father's staff had already shown up here, but surprised enough. He had stowed it away in the back corner of a drawer, not telling anyone about it, not even his dad or Asuna.

Now, though, was a perfect time to use it, so he had. Negi, now looking around fifteen or sixteen, made sure that his costume was on correctly as he made his way into the party. He had found the top part of a prince costume in a small store inside the old mall; it was black with gold trim, just like the shirt he had taken to liking so much after studying kenpou, and made him think of something a prince in a storybook would have worn rather than a medieval sort of costume. He had added the black slacks and the black dress shoes, though, as well as a mask he had dug up with the prince costume. This was the first time the young mage had been able to really dress in a costume of his own choosing, and it really seemed to fit him.

Sirius was currently looking for people that he knew in the crowd. Scanning it didn't seem to be working well until his eyes came across someone he knew.

"NEGI!"

He ran over to the mage (almost tripping, still not used to the muggle pants called jeans) and gave him a excited hug from behind. He hadn't noticed yet that he looked older than before.

Negi hadn't yet had time to turn when he heard his name called, so the random hug took him quite a bit by surprise. Had he been in his younger form, he would probably have been knocked over.

The voice registered in his mind, though, and he turned to look over his shoulder. "Sirius! I'm glad you could make it!"

"I couldn't miss a chance to party, now could I?"

He put Negi down and finally got a good look at him. Sirius certainly looked confused when he saw that his friend seemed older.

"If you don't mind me asking, mate...why do you look older than the last time I saw you?"

Oh hey, a party. Sounds like fun to Yuri. And you have to be costume too? Oh boy. Well, he has something he can wear for this occasion. It's been a while since he's had his theater outfit on, but it should work for something like this, right?

...He's going to conclude it's an interesting place to have a costume ball.

And yet there was another new person. Hawke offered a friendly smile through his hair before he pulled the strands away. It was always proper to show good manners to strangers. "Greetings, I am called Hawke." Good manners, however, was always selective, especially when one wore little on a regular basis.

Nagi was a man of easy humor and when he heard that his kid was going to the costume party he thought "Why not?". Where Negi took some candy to seem older, Nagi snapped his fingers to seem younger. Around fifteen or sixteen years old, in fact. It took a little more working of magic but disguising himself like this was essentially an easy task. The hard part was acting like a whining kid who was acting tougher for the sake of a party.

It wasn't hard to spot himself. Or, well, what looked like himself. So, that meant that it could only be one person. Negi approached, only slightly wary with an amazed look on his face. "Dad!? That's amazing!"

Nagi mimicked the expression that adorned the face of Negi, if only to make him wonder more. It was a little troubling trying to imitate his refined speech but Nagi managed. "Dad?! That's amazing!"

Oookay, that hadn't been the response he had expected. Negi gave Nagi a curious look, poking at a button on his shirt. It felt real enough. "How did...did you find the opposite aging candy? How did you get the same costume as me?"
