The predatory boy was hidden in the darkness, waiting for the right moment, the perfect chance to pounce on his prey ( ... )

Lockon quickly dashed in their direction, the moment he saw the signal. His mind blank, only mechanic, practiced actions. He didn't need anything more than that in this job right now. The plan seemed slightly crazy, but they all were crazy here.

Besides if Mello was going to succeed, it could stop the disappearances. Perhaps too much to hope for, but Lockon still rather do something, even as desperate like this, than keep waiting for another loss.

He secured the unconscious man, grabbing limp body under the arms. If it was necessary he could even drag him in one of the back alleys himself, but he would appreciate if he got help.

Allelujah followed him quickly, all of his senses alert. Mello's idea was dangerous, but not insane; if the luck was on their side, they might obtain something more important than anything else. He could feel Hallelujah stirring in the back of his mind, ready to fight if such need arises.

He helped Lockon to carry the unconscious soldier into the choosen back alley, where they couldn't be seen from the inner city.

The back alley might look relatively safe, but there wasn't time to waste there; what they had in their hands wasn't a man, it was a time bomb that could explode in their faces when they least expected it. It was extremely important to hurry up and take the soldier to the building Mello had procured himself as a temporary headquarter, hidden from anyone's view. But not without ripping the wolf's fangs out first ( ... )
