Getting up early really wasn't anything new for Rinoa; she had after all lived with an army general that woke her at ungodly hours for her to get ready and get to that fancy school he had enrolled her and the pattern hadn't changed, it had become part of her routine and sleeping in was a bit hard for her sometimes, by the time she had joined the Timber Owls she was so used to getting up early that she did it on her own and this was no exception really, she just had to wake a bit early than usual but she didn't minded really there was a perfectly good reason for it, after all once this week was over she wouldn't see the beach again for only Hyne knew how long.

The sand felt cold against her bare feet, she had decided to take off her flip-flops since she wouldn't have the chance to indulge in the feeling again later in the day since it will be a torture really, a small frown appeared on her face when a small draft moved the hem of her skirt just a bit, she really had no idea why she had decided to wear a dress for this particular ( ... )

Ukitake had felt Rinoa's presence before she stood beside him. It wasn't reiatsu, but definitely something similar. As he waited for her to arrive, he realized how calming her feel was. Considering his health, Ukitake thought she might be beneficial to keep as company for multiple reasons. Not that he reveal that so bluntly, of course.

After she spoke, he looked up to her and patted the extra space on his haori. "Ne, your timing is wonderful." He looked back out to see, a peaceful expression on his face. "It is a lovely view. And even moreso now that I have a friend to enjoy it with." He smiled at her before returning his attention to the approaching sun.

"It seems so, just in time for the sunrise." With a small smile she moved to carefully sit where he had offered, that was another of the haphazard's of wearing a dress, after fully settling herself and leaving her footwear nearby she focused her grey eyes on the view once "Well my mother always said that sharing moments and places with others made things more beautiful and special."

Rinoa had never been one to doubt the things her mother had told her and once again her mother words were proven just right, with a small hum she bent her knees and rested her chin on them watching the slowly rising sun "It's been awhile since I saw a proper sunrise."

"Hm." Ukitake bowed his head a bit, still keeping his eyes on the horizon, but listening intently to Rinoa. Just from the way she spoke of her mother, it was obvious how much she loved her. Although Ukitake dealt in death, it still tugged at his insides that those left behind had to suffer so much. He knew death wasn't the end, but for the living to not see that...

He dragged his thoughts back to the present and quietly said, "Your mother sounds like she was a very wise woman. You must be blessed to be her daughter."

He hadn't meant for their rendezvous to start out with sad thoughts. Ukitake cleared his throat and shifted to a more comfortable position. "Well, every sunrise is different, all beautiful, of course, but seeing it from the sea or a mountaintop affects you in varying degrees."
