He had meant to tell Marie he was leaving to help Logan on this mission, but the closer it got, the more he squirmed about it. He settled on leaving a note, in his bedroom. Not the most obvious of places. Bobby needed to go on this, though. He needed to make sure Logan came back in one piece (which seemed silly now) for her. She looked up to the guy, something that made Bobby curl his lip in small, secret defiance. But they all needed an adult around, even if it was Logan ( ... )

She was plenty of things, but stupid wasn't one of them. The fact of the matter was, she knew her boys like she knew the back of her hand, and when she'd heard snippets about a raid of some kind going on, she really hadn't expected any different. Of course Bobby would want to go play hero, it was what he did. He helped people, put causes before himself, found ideas to devote himself to and occasionally, in the process- manage to get himself into as much trouble as humanly possible. Just like Logan would worm his way in maybe because he knew it wouldn't kill him and maybe because he just needed something to do. Reasons aside, fact was fact and while no one had said anything, she still knew it was coming. They all did.

What she wasn't expecting, was to wake up the next morning to an empty flat ( ... )

Logan grunted. He had nothing to say to the boy, really. He knew how the Canuck felt about his following him over. The scent of blood lingered in the air, and he had no doubt it was probably the Iceman himself. He shook his head, as if along with a mental dialogue he was sharing with himself. His gaze moved from the kid, down the hall, and although he knew she wasn't there, part of him irrationally hoped she would still be there.

Spitfire that she was, though, Logan knew she wouldn't be there. But that didn't necessarily mean it would stay that way. Especially not for long. He had no doubt she'd be more than happy to get home and give them both a piece of her mind. So when he heard the door handle twist and the following thunder of the door being wrenched open with more force than necessary- Logan was ready for the storm that was approaching.

His entire body turned, gaze steady on the young fireball that stepped into the house.

He scoffed. It wasn't like he expected Logan to have anything to say to him, all of that had already been made apparent. Bobby pushed his head back against the wall and stared up at the ceiling, counting the spots air was seeping through. Maybe if he concentrated hard enough, stared long enough- it would all blur out ( ... )
