"The price one pays upon death is never exact. Some lose a memory, a limb, or in one case, their honor. Are you willing to take that risk? For the knowledge gained may not be worth it." Tia sighed. "Understand this, I don't fault you wanting to know more. I am not trying to talk you out of it. I merely think that in the end, it will not accomplish much."

Carmen shifted her hat on her head, wondering what Tia was thinking at this point. "I realize that it is always a high cost, as well. Perhaps it will be too high. But it is better to try than sit and wonder what might have been. I do understand that now. And I do not believe I will be talked out of it, but I am open to suggestions, if you have any."

"Knowing what I do of you, however, that is not possible. So, the other thing to do is remind you that you'll need protection. There will be people who shall be very unhappy about this, regardless. I would also like to know who is in this team you're putting together. Trustworthy individuals are not in short supply, but you would do well to avoid the...I believe they call themselves the Akatsuki. Madara especially is very suspicious."

Carmen actually laughed. "That was not an expected response, but I thank you for your frankness."

She nodded in confirmation of Tia's other statement. She was not going to change her mind. "There will be. Bu those I felt would most stand in the way of it are not. The only one whom I feel has issues with this is the strange boy named Mello. Though I am flattered he felt the need to warn of me." Carmen tilted her head, seeming to consider. "I have heard of them. The young ninjas warned of them, did they not? Madara, Pain, and Itachi, yes?" She knew full well about them. But she didn't have to reveal anything. "I do not believe Alphonse Elric would work with him, and he has volunteered. I believe him to be invaluable in this."
